More than 35,000 visitors to attend the 25th edition of the region’s premier student recruitment forum

H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has today (on Wednesday, April 17, 2013) inaugurated GETEX Spring 2013, the leading education and training event in the Middle East and Asia, being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. GETEX Spring 2013, which will run until April 19th, has gathered more than 400 institutions worldwide that will collectively showcase over 2,500 academic, vocational and training programmes to an audience of over 35,000 visitors over the next three days.
This silver jubilee edition of GETEX Spring features segments that broadly cater to different student profiles including General Education, Higher Education, Vocational & Occupational Training and Professional Development.
His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan pointed out that GETEX is gaining strategic significance as one of the most prominent and leading education events at the regional and global levels. He highlighted that the strong participation by leading universities, academic institutions and professional institutes from all over the world reaffirms the important role of this event as a major interactive platform to establish strong strategic ties to support efforts aimed at meeting the future aspirations of students in the UAE and the region as a whole. He also commended the various improvements and additions that have been incorporated into GETEX over the recent years, including the introduction of new academic options, show segments and services, which have made a significant impact in taking the event to a new level of excellence. “The continued success of GETEX reflects the UAE’s important role in the global educational domain, boosted by the steadfast support of the country’s leaders to develop the education sector and create an integrated learning environment to encourage creativity and innovation,” he added.
GETEX is strongly supported by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MOHESR).
Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), organizer of the event, said: “For nearly three decades GETEX has lived up to its reputation as one of the most eagerly anticipated education industry event, providing a dedicated platform that brings together learners and educators from all over the world. Education remains one of the top priorities in the Middle East, particularly in the GCC, and this is strongly reflected by the overwhelming response that GETEX has consistently generated over the years. This being the 25th edition of the event, we continue to further broaden the scope of the show and introduce several innovative offerings that are in line with the rapidly changing trends in the global education domain.”
The General Education segment this year presents school-goers with a gateway of information intelligence on day-scholar, residential/boarding schools and summer camps. The Higher Education segment offers both undergraduate and post-graduate courses that highlight the Middle East being one of the fastest growing student populations. The Vocational & Occupational Training segment aims to bridge the divide between education and industry by encouraging learners to acquire skills in specific job profiles, empowering them to quickly enter the workforce and gain career independence. Targeting the largely untapped market for professional service providers, the Professional Development segment provides access to customised executive education for mid-to-senior management levels as well as junior levels.

افتتح معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير الثقافة والشباب وتنمية المجتمع، اليوم (الأربعاء 17 نيسان/أبريل 2013) دورة الربيع من معرض الخليج للتدريب والتعليم "جيتكس 2013"، الحدث الرائد في مجال التعليم والتدريب والتطوير المهني على مستوى الشرق الأوسط وآسيا، والذي تدعمه وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، في "مركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض". وتستقطب دورة الربيع، المستمرة لغاية 19 نيسان/أبريل الجاري، أكثر من 400 مؤسسة تعليمية وأكاديمية من مختلف أنحاء العالم والتي ستقدّم مجتمعةً أكثر من 2,500 برنامج تدريبي وأكاديمي ومهني أمام ما يزيد عن 35,000 زائر على مدى ثلاثة أيام متتالية.
وتتخلل دورة الربيع، التي تتزامن مع اليوبيل الفضي لـ "جيتكس"، أجنحة مختلفة تلبي الاحتياجات الحالية والتطلعات المستقبلية لشريحة واسعة من الطلبة، بما فيها جناح التعليم العام وجناح التعليم العالي وجناح التدريب وجناح التطوير المهني.
وأوضح معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان بأنّ معرض الخليج للتدريب والتعليم بات أحد أبرز الفعاليات الرائدة ليس على المستوى الاقليمي فحسب بل العالمي أيضاً، مشيراً إلى أنّ الإقبال المتزايد والمشاركة الواسعة من قبل أبرز الجامعات والمؤسسات الأكاديمية والمعاهد المهنية من مختلف أنحاء العالم تؤكد مجدداً أهمية الحدث باعتباره منصة تفاعلية رائدة لتأسيس علاقات استراتيجية متينة تخدم الجهود الرامية إلى تلبية التطلعات المستقبلية للطلبة في الإمارات والمنطقة ككل. وأشاد معاليه بالتطورات المتلاحقة التي شهدها المعرض على مدى السنوات الأخيرة ليصل اليوم إلى مستوى جديد من التميز مع توفير مجموعة متكاملة من الخيارات التعليمية الجديدة التي تمثل إضافة هامة للمجتمع التعليمي والأكاديمي. واختتم معاليه: "يعكس نجاح "جيتكس" الدور الهام الذي تقوم به الإمارات على الساحة التعليمية العالمية في ظل الدعم المتواصل والاهتمام الكبير الذي توليه القيادة الرشيدة لتطوير قطاع التعليم وخلق بيئة تعليمية متكاملة ومحفزة على الإبداع والابتكار."
من جانبه، قال أنسليم غودينهو، مدير عام شركة "انترناشيونال كونفرنسز آند إكزيبيشنز"، الجهة المنظمة للمعرض: "نجح "جيتكس" على مدى ما يقارب من ثلاثة عقود في ترسيخ مكانته الطليعية كأحد أبرز الفعاليات المرتقبة ضمن قطاع التعليم باعتباره منصة تفاعلية متخصصة تجمع عدد من أبرز المؤسسات الأكاديمية والمعاهد التدريبية من مختلف أنحاء العالم. ولا يزال قطاع التعليم أحد أبرز الأولويات الاستراتيجية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، لا سيّما في الخليج العربي، وهو ما ينعكس بقوة في الإقبال الكبير والمشاركة الواسعة في "جيتكس" على مدى السنوات الماضية. وبالتزامن مع اليوبيل الفضي لمعرض الخليج للتدريب والتعليم، نواصل العمل على توسيع نطاق الحدث وتقديم المزيد من الخيارات الأكاديمية المبتكرة التي تواكب الاتجاهات المتغيرة على الساحة التعليمية العالمية."
ويمثل جناح التعليم العام بوابة مثالية للحصول على معلومات شاملة حول المدارس النهارية والداخلية والمخيمات الصيفية. ويقدم الجناح مجموعة واسعة من البرامج الجامعية وبرامج الدراسات العليا التي تعكس المكانة المتنامية لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط كإحدى أبرز الوجهات التي تشهد نمواً متسارعاً في التعداد الطلابي. ويهدف جناح التدريب المهني إلى سد الفجوة بين التعليم والحياة العملية عبر تشجيع الدارسين على اكتساب المهارات المتخصصة التي تؤهلهم للاندماج بفعالية ضمن سوق العمل وتحقيق استقلالية وظيفية وبناء مستقبل مهني ناجح. ويستهدف جناح التطوير المهني تسليط الضوء على السوق غير المستغلة بالنسبة لمزودي الخدمات المهنية، حيث يوفر فرصة الوصول المباشر إلى برامج التعليم التنفيذي المتخصصة والموجهة للإدارات المتوسطة والعليا فضلاً عن المهنيين المبتدئين.
