Barloworld Logistics pins regional growth plans on UAE’s world-class logistics infrastructure

Barloworld Logistics, a leading provider of logistics and supply chain management solutions, has revealed that the UAE will remain a catalyst for the company’s growth plans in the region after the World Bank ranked the UAE ahead of all GCC countries in its recently published Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2012. Barloworld Logistics further pointed out that the UAE has been listed 17th in the overall LPI rankings, outranking other prominent countries such as Norway, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Italy and South Korea, thereby reaffirming the growing status of the UAE in the global logistics value chain. Barloworld Logistics has revealed that the World Bank’s biennial LPI has been a key tool in charting the company’s strategic expansion plans in the GCC and globally, providing key insights on the strengths and areas of improvements of all of its target markets.

Barloworld Logistics' key competencies include all traditional supply chain and logistics functions, from demand planning, freight forwarding and clearing and inventory solutions, through procurement, dedicated transport services and transport management services and warehousing and distribution. The company’s Middle East offices are equipped with clearance license, customs accreditation, corporate and sales & marketing office, operations, warehouses as well as contacts with shipping-lines and airlines. There are four warehouses having a total capacity of over 23,000 pallet positions that can store dry cargo as well as temperature sensitive cargo from 18°C to 40°C.

كشفت "بارلوورلد لوجيستكس" (Barloworld Logistics)، إحدى الشركات الرائدة في مجال توفير حلول الخدمات اللوجستية وإدارة سلسلة الإمداد، أن دولة الإمارات ستبقى تشكل حافزاً لخطط نموها في المنطقة لا سيما بعد تصنيفها في صدارة دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي في مؤشر أداء الخدمات اللوجستية الصادر عن البنك الدولي في العام 2012. كما أشارت الشركة إلى إحتلال دولة الإمارات للمرتبة السابعة عشرة في التصنيف الكلي لمؤشر أداء الخدمات اللوجستية، متفوقة على دول بارزة أخرى في هذا المجال مثل النرويج واستراليا وإيرلندا ونيوزلندا وإيطاليا وكوريا الجنوبية، ومؤكدة بذلك المكانة المتنامية لدولة الإمارات ضمن سلسلة القيمة العالمية للخدمات اللوجستية. واعلنت "بارلوورلد لوجيستكس" أن مؤشر أداء الخدمات اللوجستية، الذي يصدر عن البنك الدولي كل سنتين، شكل أداة رئيسية في رسم خطط التوسع الاستراتيجية للشركة في منطقة دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي والعالم، موفراً بذلك أفكاراً هامة حول نقاط القوة ومجالات التحسين لكافة الأسواق المستهدفة.

وتشمل الكفاءات الأساسية لشركة "بارلوورلد لوجيستكس" كل الوظائف التقليدية لسلسلة الإمداد والعمليات اللوجستية، بدءاً من إعداد الطلب وحلول الشحن والتخليص والمخزون، مروراً بالمشتريات وخدمات النقل المتخصصة ووصولاً إلى خدمات إدارة النقل والتخزين والتوزيع. وتم تزويد مكاتب الشركة في الشرق الأوسط برخص التخليص والتصديق الجمركي، بالإضافة إلى تاسيس مكتب للتسويق والمبيعات والعمليات والمخازن فضلاً عن خدمات الإتصال مع خطوط الشحن والخطوط الجوية. كما يوجد أربعة مخازن بطاقة استيعابية إجمالية تبلغ أكثر من 23.000 مكان مخصص للحاويات والتي يمكنها تخزين البضائع الجافة، بالإضافة إلى البضائع والشحنات ذات الطبيعة الحساسة للحرارة التي تتراوح من 18 إلى 40 درجة.
