Generating a positive response from international and regional trade buyers on the first two days, Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East are underlining the potential strength of the regional market. The co-located trade shows from Epoc Messe Frankfurt will run until 7pm today (Thursday, March 7th) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Viewed as an exciting growth area by both industries – the paper products and office supplies industry and the toys, games and children’s lifestyle trade – the Middle East market is attracting the attention of manufacturers and suppliers worldwide, who see the trade fairs as ideal launch pads into the region.

The positive economic upturn in the region is driving demand for fresh office supplies across the Middle East. Going by the turnout at Paperworld Middle East over the first two days, regional traders, distributors and buyers are increasingly on the lookout for reliable suppliers and the latest innovations in the field.

According to recent research by Euromonitor International, the retail market for Toys and Games stores in the UAE was worth $270.9 million in 2012, an indication of the market that exists. Playworld Middle East 2013 features an array of toys, games and children’s products from reputed international manufacturers who are keen to harness the growth potential of the Middle East.

"We launched Paperworld Middle East with much anticipation having seen a perceived white space in the market for such a trade event,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “The flagship fair in Frankfurt had established a renowned name in the industry and we felt the time was right to bring that to this region. We have grown 18% since our launch edition. We will continue to listen to the market and fine tune the event to meet market demands and expect to see a steady growth for this show in the coming years," he added.

Playworld Middle East exhibitor Glory Horizons has been awarded as the official distributor in the GCC and Levant to distribute the merchandise and memorabilia for the coveted 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

Mr. Ghanim Al Ghanin, CEO, Glory Horizons, said: “It is a great opportunity to be part of such an international event where we will gain the maximum experience out of the collaboration. We are looking forward to satisfying both FIFA and the World Cup fans of the region.”

Among the exhibitors under the spotlight at Paperworld Middle East is TESA on the German Pavilion. Presenting a range of modern office solutions, the TESA line of elegantly designed adhesive tape dispensers are proving popular. There has been a 27% increase in the number of German exhibitors participating in this year’s edition.

Leading European manufacturer of UWF printing and writing papers, Portocel Soporcel was also among those making a favourable impression among trade visitors on the first two days at Paperworld Middle East. The Portuguese manufacturer of the reputed Navigator and Inacopia brands are a vertically integrated production group with vast tracts of managed forests being used for paper production.

At Playworld Middle East, the show floor has been busy with ongoing demonstrations of games and toys as exhibitors pursue prospective clients. FirstBIKE’s range of balance bikes is proving to be a big hit. FirstBIKE has recently made its foray into the markets of the Middle East and India.
