Volkswagen hosts driving day for Lebanese VIP clients at the Dubai Autodrome

• All new 2014 & 2015 Volkswagen model range introduced exclusively
• Futuristic XL1, the world’s most efficient production car revealed for the first time

Beirut, April 16, 2014 - Volkswagen, the world's leading automotive company in the field of innovative drive technologies, organized an all-day exclusive event to its VIP clients and partners at the Dubai Autodrome. All-new models line-up were introduced including the futuristic XL1, the affordable sport-utility luxury SUV Touareg and the most powerful version of the Golf ever, the Golf R.

A custom made circuit was set exclusively for the event and was channelled by more than twenty professionals to assist drivers while experiencing new cars features and performance.

Wissam Salameh, Volkswagen Commercial Director, stressed on Volkswagen relationship with rental companies in Lebanon: “We are delighted to get our partners closer to the Volkswagen brand, creating a personal relationship with them. This model range embodies the strength of the high quality and number of innovations in drive technology- strengthened Volkswagen’s position as market leader”.

Guests got to drive the Volkswagen XL1, world’s most fuel-efficient and aerodynamic production car, during the event. The vehicle stems from the realization of a decade-long goal of Volkswagen AG to put together an ultra-light yet road-ready mega-mileage car.

As for the Volkswagen Touareg, the sport-utility luxury just got a little sportier offering advanced, fuel-saving technologies and a premium driving experience. The new Touareg marks an immediate impression with its distinctive characteristics and outstanding off-road capabilities.

To celebrate 40 years of the most successful European car of all time, guests had the opportunity to experience the latest Golf R, the most powerful version of the Golf ever to be sold in the market. This dynamic new compact sports car, and flagship of the model series, is due to arrive to Lebanon this summer to complete the series lineup, joining the Golf and Golf GTI, which arrived in 2013. The new Golf R will offer more power and efficiency than previously seen in the Golf R models and is regarded as the most powerful version of the model series ever built.

Specifications and features of Golf R

The new 4-cylinder Golf R has a boosted power of 280 hp Available with six-speed DSG style gearbox, the turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine give it a giant-slaying performance.

The Golf R has always used 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive. In addition to four electronic differential locks (EDS) that are a function of the electronic stability control system. The new Golf R is equipped with "ESC Sport" as standard. Volkswagen has developed numerous new exterior elements for the flagship Golf which includes the bumpers, side skirts, rear diffuser and four chrome tailpipes. The most powerful Golf is equipped with sport seats in the front and leather seating surfaces, and head restraints upholstered in dark "Carbon" Nappa leather. The decorative inlays of the dashboard and door trim panels feature the "Carbon Touch" design; ambient lighting is also integrated in the door trim panels as standard. The door sill kickplates, pedals, and foot support are designed with a stainless-steel look.

Further features include: electronic differential lock XD, climatronic air conditioning system; bi-xenon headlamps; cell phone interface ; 19 inch alloy wheels. On top of this is an optional DCC (dynamic chassis control) system with adaptive damping in three different modes: comfort, normal and sport and a navigation system “Discover Pro”.

بيروت، في ... أيار 2014 - نظمت شركة فولكس واجن، شركة السيارات الرائدة عالمياً في ميدان تقنيات القيادة المبتكرة، رحلة استمرت ليومين استضافت خلالها كبار زبائنها وشركائها إلى مضمار حلبة "دبي أوتودروم" لسباق السيارات في الإمارات العربية المتحدة بهدف المشاركة في تجارب اختبارات قيادة سيارات فولكس واجن.

وخلال اللقاء طرحت الشركة النماذج الجديدة كلياً بما فيها سيارة XL1بخطوط تصميمها وطراز Touareg الرياضية متعددة الاستعمالات الفاخرة التنافسية السعر، إضافة إلى فولكس فاجن "جولف آر" التي تعتبر أقوى سيارة جولف تم تصنيعها. وقد تم تجهيز الحلبة خصيصاً وحصرياً لهذا الحدث مما أتاح لأكثر من عشرين محترفاً الفرصة لمساعدة السائقين في تجارب القيادة بهدف اختبار ميّزات السيارات الجديدة وأدائها.

ومن جهته، شدد وسام سلامة مدير القسم التجاري في شركة فولكس واجن على أهمية العلاقة التي تربط الشركة بوكالات تأجير السيارات في لبنان، وقال: "يسرّنا تقريب علامة فولكس واجن التجارية من شركائنا لبناء علاقة شخصية معهم. وتمثل مجموعة الموديلات التي طرحناها نموذجاً للجودة العالية وعدد الابتكارات التي تميّز تكنولوجيا القيادة مما يعزّز مكانة فولكس واجن الرائدة في الأسواق".

واستمتع الضيوف خلال الحدث بتجربة قيادة  فولكس واجن طرازXL1- أكثر السيارات كفاءة في توفير الوقود في العالم؛ وهي نتيجة عمل شركة "فولكس واجن إيه جي" الدؤوب على مدى عقد كامل في سبيل تحقيق سيارة خفيفة للغاية وتتميز في الوقت نفسه بقدرة هائلة على اجتياز الأميال على الطريق.

مواصفات وميزات سيارة جولف آر

سيارة جولف آر الجديدة بمحرك تيربو بأربع اسطوانات سعة 2.0 لتر TSI يولد قوة 280 حصاناً، تتوفر بست سرعات مع تقنية التحوّل المباشر في علبة التروس (بصندوق سرعات أوتوماتيكي مزدوج التعشيقDSG )، لأداء رائع.

كعادتها، تستخدم جولف آر أسلوب قيادة (4motion) بنظام الدفع الرباعي الدائم. وإضافة الى الأقفال التفاضلية الإلكترونية الأربعة (EDS)، تم تجهيز سيارة جولف آر بنظام قياسي للتحكم الإلكتروني بالثبات(ESC) . كما أدخلت شركة فولكس فاجن عدة تعديلات على التصميم الخارجي لسيارة جولف الجديدة الرائدة في فئتها لتتضمن: ممتص للصدمات وعتبات بارزة، ومشتت هواء خلفي وأربعة مداخين للعادم مصنوعة من الكروم. تتمتع أقوى سيارات جولف بمقاعد رياضية أمامية جلدية، ومساند للرأس بلون "الكربون" القاتم من جلد النابا. أما لوحة القيادة والتصاميم الخطية للأبواب فتم تطعيمها بلمسة كربون لإضفاء مظهر السيارات الرياضية، فضلاً عن الإضاءة الداخلية القياسية في لوحات تقليم الباب. كما تم تطعيم عتبات الأبواب الأمامية، الدواسات، ودعسة القدم بالفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ.

وتتضمن سائر المواصفات نظاماً تفاضلياً للإقفال (XD)، ونظاماً لتكييف الهواء؛ ومصابيح أمامية ثنائية الزينون؛ وواجهة للهاتف الخليوي؛ وعجلات بقياس 19 بوصة. كما أن السيارة مزوّدة نظام التحكم الديناميكي بالهيكل المعدني (DCC)مع التخميد التكيفي اختياري مع ثلاثة أوضاع مختلفة: الراحة، العادي والرياضة ونظام للملاحة "اكتشف برو".
