InSinkErator voices support for UAE Ministry of Energy’s bid to host 24th edition of World Energy Congress in 2019

 

Company revealed as ‘Silver Sponsor’ for Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence’s ‘State of Energy Report 2015’

InSinkErator, a business unit of Emerson Electric Co. and the inventor and world’s largest manufacturer of food waste disposers and steaming hot water taps for home and commercial use, has pledged its full support for the UAE Ministry of Energy’s bid to host the 24^th edition of the World Energy Congress in 2019. Voting for the hosting country will take place in Colombia in October 2014. The announcement was made in a specially hosted media briefing held last May 4, 2014 at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. The event was attended by H.E. Dr Mattar Hamed Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy; H.E. Eng. Fatima Al Foora Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity Affairs, Ministry of Energy and Sayed Aqa, UNDP Resident Representative in the UAE. Also present were representatives of various companies, including Mohamed Karam, Business Development Manager ME & Africa, InSinkErator, Emerson FZE. During the event, the Ministry also announced that preparations are now underway for the release of the ‘State of Energy Report of the UAE in 2015.’ a joint collaboration between the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

InSinkErator has been revealed as the ‘Silver Sponsor’ for the collaborative report. The company’s participation as a major sponsor for the report is the result of a sponsorship agreement signed between InSinkErator and the DCCE last March 23, 2014_. Furthermore, this is InSinkErator’s 2^nd time to sponsor Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence’s ‘State of Energy Report after the 1^st issue was published recently in 2014.

The 'State of the Energy Report of the UAE' is part of the country's energy strategy. The reference publication highlights the best practices and success stories of national activities in the process of developing the energy sector, the contribution of renewable energy to the UAE’s energy diversification policy, energy efficiency criteria as well as the consolidation of efforts to achieve clean, safe and sustainable energy as the main basis of promoting economic and social growth and development. The 2015 edition of the report is expected to throw the spotlight on the importance of steps taken by the UAE in the context of its efforts aimed at defining the features of renewable energy and reducing the effects of climate change as part of the international sustainability efforts. Within the framework of efforts to create a future based on sustainability, the energy report seeks to become a printed reference of best practices and success stories in the field of sustainable energy in the UAE.

الشركة تكشف عن اختيارها كراع فضي لـ "تقرير حالة الطاقة لعام 2015" الصادر عن مركز دبي المتميز لضبط الكربون

أعلنت "إنسنكريتر" "InSinkErator"، أكبر شركة مصنعة ومبتكرة لوحدات التخلص من مخلفات الطعام وأجهزة توزيع المياه الساخنة الفورية للإستخدامات المنزلية والتجارية في العالم والتابعة لشركة "إيمرسون إليكتريك" "Emerson Electric"، عن دعمها الكامل لطلب وزارة الطاقة في دولة الإمارات لاستضافة الدورة الرابعة والعشرين من المؤتمر العالمي للطاقة في العام 2019. وسيجري التصويت على اختيار الدولة المضيفة في كولومبيا في شهر أكتوبر/تشرين الأول المقبل. وجاء هذا الإعلان رفيع المستوى خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد خصيصاً لهذا الغرض بتاريخ 4 مايو/أيار الجاري في أبوظبي- جميرا أبراج الاتحاد.

وحضر المؤتمر سعادة مطر حامد النيادي، وكيل وزارة الطاقة؛ وسعادة المهندسة فاطمة الفورة الشامسي، الوكيل المساعد لشؤون الكهرباء في وزارة الطاقة؛ وسيد آغا، الممثل المقيم لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP) في الإمارات. كما حضر ممثلون من مختلف الشركات بمن فيهم محمد كرم، مدير تطوير الأعمال في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا لدى شركة "إنسنكريتر"، "إيمرسون". وأعلنت الوزارة خلال المؤتمر أن التحضيرات جارية لإصدار "تقرير حالة الطاقة في الإمارات لعام 2015" بتعاون مشترك مع مركز دبي المتميز لضبط الكربون (DCCE) وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي.

وتم اختيار "إنسنكريتر" كراع فضي لهذا التقرير المشترك للمرة الثانية بعد التقرير الأول الذي نشر مؤخراً في العام الجاري. وتأتي مشاركة الشركة كراع رئيسي للتقرير في إطار اتفاقية الرعاية الموقعة بين "إنسنكريتر" ومركز دبي المتميز لضبط الكربون في 23 مارس/آذار الماضي.

ويعتبر "تقرير حالة الطاقة في الإمارات" جزءاً من استراتيجية الدولة في مجال الطاقة. ويسلط التقرير الضوء على أفضل الممارسات وقصص نجاح الأنشطة المحلية في مسيرة تطوير قطاع الطاقة ومدى مساهمة الطاقة المتجددة في سياسة الإمارات لتنويع مصادر الطاقة ومعيار كفاءة استخدام الطاقة، بالإضافة إلى توحيد الجهود للتوصل إلى طاقة نظيفة وآمنة ومستدامة كأساس رئيسي لدفع عجلة النمو والتطور الاقتصادي والاجتماعي. ومن المتوقع أن تتطرق نسخة العام 2015 من هذا التقرير إلى أهمية الخطوات التي اتخذتها دولة الإمارات في سياق جهودها الرامية إلى تحديد مزايا الطاقة المتجددة والتخفيف من آثار التغيرات المناخية في إطار الجهود الدولية لدعم الاستدامة. وفي سياق الجهود المبذولة لبناء مستقبل قائم على الاستدامة، يهدف تقرير الطاقة إلى أن يكون مرجعاً مطبوعاً لأفضل الممارسات وقصص النجاح في مجال الطاقة المستدامة في دولة الإمارات.
