Al Ghurair Centre,
Dubai’s first shopping mall, is celebrating its heritage in the heart of
Deira with an installation of 1,200 umbrellas.
Currently on display at entrance three, the spectacular display will be on view to the public until 28th December, 2013.
A Dubai-based decor company was briefed to install the umbrella art as
the Al Ghurair Centre wanted a UAE flag-inspired piece to celebrate the
end of 2013 and this year’s achievements, including winning Expo 2020
and the launch of the Centre’s expansion with the Soul of the City
campaign. Having taken four days to execute, the unique piece of street
art echoes the urban vibe that the mall has been creating over recent
months with street artists, urban acts and free, live, daily
entertainment right in the heart of Deira.
