Mixed performances for GCC’s stock markets

 GCC stock markets were mostly seeing negative performances with some exceptions. However, some markets could find support in strong local fundamentals.

Oil prices were volatile after a series of data on inventory levels in the US sent mixed signals with crude inventories rising higher than expected while gasoline inventories shrank. However, concerns remained regarding the level of demand in the US and China. The latter could see a weaker-than-expected economic recovery.

The Dubai stock market reacted with some volatility as company earnings today were mitigated with some estimates misses. The main index could also remain under pressure with traders moving to secure their gains. Overall, the index could recover later on and maintain its uptrend thanks to strong local fundamentals and a potentially more accommodating monetary policy in the US.

The Abu Dhabi stock market was seeing some volatility as well, as traders reacted to the earnings publication from ADNOC subsidiaries but continued to trade sideways overall. The main index could be exposed to new price corrections in the coming trading sessions. 

The Qatari stock market continued to stagnate after its surge and could see traders secure their gains and some price corrections as a result. Stagnant natural gas prices also add to the less optimistic outlook in the short term.

The Saudi stock market saw a mostly positive performance thanks to a strong earnings report from Etihad Etisalat while other stocks continued to see a positive outlook. As a result, the main index could maintain its uptrend and extend gains in particular if oil prices are able to rebound more strongly.

The Egyptian stock market could be heading to the downside as it failed to move beyond this year’s peak. At the same time, international investors continue their selling trend in the face of a potential pound devaluation in the medium term and as the country is faced with a possible deterioration in credit rating.

شهدت أسواق الأسهم الخليجية في الغالب أداء سلبيا مع بعض الاستثناءات. ومع ذلك، قد تجد بعض الأسواق دعما في الأساسيات المحلية القوية.

 

كانت أسعار النفط متقلبة بعد أن أرسلت سلسلة من البيانات حول مستويات المخزون في الولايات المتحدة إشارات متباينة مع ارتفاع مخزونات النفط الخام أعلى من المتوقع بينما تقلصت مخزونات البنزين. ومع ذلك، ظلت المخاوف بشأن مستوى الطلب في الولايات المتحدة والصين. يمكن أن تشهد الصين تعافيا اقتصاديا أضعف من المتوقع.

 

تفاعل سوق الأسهم في دبي وسجل بعض التقلبات حيث كانت أرباح الشركات اليوم متباينة وبعضها كانت دون التوقعات. قد يظل المؤشر الرئيسي أيضا تحت الضغط مع تحرك المتداولين لتأمين مكاسبهم. بشكل عام، يمكن أن يتعافى المؤشر لاحقا ويحافظ على اتجاهه الصعودي بفضل الأساسيات المحلية القوية وتوقعات سياسة نقدية أكثر ليونة في الولايات المتحدة.

 

وشهد سوق الأوراق المالية في أبو ظبي بعض التقلبات أيضا، حيث أخذ المتداولين في الاعتبار نشر أرباح الشركات التابعة لأدنوك، لكن استمر السوق في التداول جانبيا بشكل عام. قد يتعرض المؤشر الرئيسي لتصحيحات في الأسعار مجددا في جلسات التداول القادمة.

 

واصل سوق الأسهم القطرية في الركود بعد صعوده ويمكن أن يرى المتداولين يؤمنون مكاسبهم وقد يسجل بعض التصحيحات السعرية نتيجة لذلك. كما يضيف ركود أسعار الغاز الطبيعي إلى تقييد التوقعات المتفائلة على المدى القصير.

 

شهد سوق الأسهم السعودية أداء إيجابيا في الغالب بفضل إعلان اتحاد اتصالات عن أرباح قوية بينما استمرت الأسهم الأخرى في رؤية نظرة مستقبلية إيجابية. نتيجة لذلك، يمكن أن يحافظ المؤشر الرئيسي على اتجاهه الصعودي ويمدد مكاسبه على وجه الخصوص إذا كانت أسعار النفط قادرة على الانتعاش بقوة.
