Ministry of Economy welcomes Krush Brands to UAE under NextGenFDI initiative as it continues strategic efforts to attract more companies

 



 

 

Abu Dhabi, 2 August 2022

The Ministry of Economy announced one of the first businesses to join the landmark NextGenFDI initiative - Krush Brands, a full stack food technology, multi-kitchen food service company. The announcement comes three weeks after the launch of the global initiative in collaboration with seven strategic partners and representatives of key national entities in the UAE. Under the initiative, Krush Brands will relocate its global headquarters to the UAE with an aim to triple its growth by creating 700 jobs within two years, in addition to moving its technology arm from Europe to the UAE. 

 

H.E. Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, said: “The UAE’s vision aspires to promote FDI flows to the new economic sectors. In line with this vision, NextGenFDI is set to cement the country’s efforts in building a successful economic model based on knowledge and innovation. The Ministry of Economy continues to work alongside its strategic partners to attract new companies to our market and promote business activity and innovation, in accordance with our wise leadership’s directives and the Principles of the 50, thus consolidating the UAE’s position as a leading global FDI destination.”

 

H.E. added: “Krush Brands joining the initiative marks a big step forward in this direction as it is clear that the company sees the UAE as the perfect place for sustainable development and digital business expansion. We are also committed to offering the necessary support to facilitate the setting up of technology startups in the UAE and look forward to welcoming more companies and stakeholders to the initiative in the near future.”

 

The NextGenFDI initiative offers multiple incentives to digital companies, including faster business setup processes, banking readiness, simpler visa procedures and attractive commercial and residential real estate options. The initiative also complements other UAE initiatives such as the National Program for Coders, which is offering golden visas to 100,000 coders.

 

The Ministry of Economy, along with other committed stakeholders, will support Krush Brands’ business journey by offering practical support that includes introducing them to potential strategic partners across aviation, hospitality, real estate and retail. The integrated efforts by the Ministry and other stakeholders will enhance value chains and help develop the digital business ecosystem throughout the country.

جارتنر: ارتفاع عائدات برامج أتمتة العمليات الآلية إلى 2.9 مليار دولار خلال 2022

 

شركات تطوير حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية تعتمد تقنيات "الأتمتة الفائقة" لدعم النمو

 

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 2 أغسطس 2022 – من المتوقّع أن تصل عائدات حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية robotic process automation حول العالم إلى عتبة 2.9 مليار دولار خلال العام 2022، وهو ما يمثّل زيادة بنسبة 19.5% عن العام 2021، وذلك وفقا لأحدث الدراسات الصادرة عن شركة "جارتنر" للأبحاث.

 

وقالت كاثي تورنبوهم، نائب الرئيس الأول للأبحاث لدى "جارتنر":" بعد تحقيقها معدّل نمو بلغ 31% خلال العام 2021، تواصل أسواق حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية تحقيق معدلات نمو تفوق المعدّل العالمي لنمو أسواق حلول البرامج والبالغ 16%. إذ تتجه المؤسسات إلى الاستفادة من هذه الحلول لتسريع تنفيذ مبادرات أتمتة عمليات الأعمال ومخططات التحوّل الرقمي، وذلك من خلال تحويل كوابيس السابق إلى أحلام رقمية لتعزيز الكفاءة التشغيلية".

 

وعلى الرغم من نموها بوتيرة أبطأ لدى مقارنتها بالسنوات الماضية، إلا أن توقّعات أسواق حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية تتجه إلى استمرارها في تحقيق معدلات نمو عشرية وصولا إلى العام 2023، مع تقديرات لنمو سنويّ بمعدّل 17.5% (انظر الجدول 1).

ولا تزال حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية ميدانا مُلفتا وسريع النمو في الأسواق، لا سيما مع إقبال المزيد من شركات تطوير الحلول على تقديم عروضها لأتمتة العمليات الآلية ضمن منظومة أوسع من منصات الأتمتة التي تمتلك إمكانيات الأتمتة الفائقة. وفيما يمثل انطلاق نحو بلوغ الأتمتة الفائقة، سوف تسعى المؤسسات إلى زيادة إنفاقها على حلول برامج أتمتة العمليات الآلية لأنها لا تزال تعتمد على الكثير من الإجراءات المتكررة، والأعمال اليدوية والتي يمكن من خلال الأتمتة توفير الكثير من وقت الموظفين لتركيزه أكثر على العمل الاستراتيجي.

 

من جهتها، قالت فارشا ميهتا، كبير المتخصصين في أبحاث السوق لدى "جارتنر":" إن المنافسة ما بين شركات تطوير حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية والعديد من شركات البرمجيات تدفع بالأسواق نحو توفير ما هو أكثر من مجرد عرض تقني مبنيّ على تقنية منفردة، ليتجه أكثر نحو مزيد من الباقات والأدوات المتقدمة والتي تتضمن منصات تطبيقات منخفضة التعليمات البرمجية low-code، وتعدين العمليات، وتعدين المهام، وتنظيم نماذج القرار، ومنصات الدمج-كخدمة iPaas، ورؤية الكمبيوتر، وإمكانيات أنظمة التعرّف على الهوية IDP، بالإضافة إلى عروضهم القائمة من أتمتة العمليات الآلية. إذ يتيح لهم ذلك، أو بالأحرى يجعلهم قادرين على توفير منصات تقنيات أتمتة فائقة شاملة".

 

وفي الواقع، تشير تقديرات شركة "جارتنر" إلى أنه وبحلول العام 2024 فإن التوجه نحو بلوغ مرحلة الأتمتة الفائقة سوف تدفع بالمؤسسات نحو تبني ثلاثة على الأقل من حوالي عشرين نوعية متوفرة من برامج الأتمتة الفائقة والحيادية للعمليات.

تتجه أسواق أمريكا الشمالية، وغرب أوروبا واليابان مجتمعة للإسهام بقرابة 77% من عائدات أسواق حلول أتمتة العمليات الآلية حول العالم خلال العام 2022. فأسواق أمريكا الشمالية سوف تسهم بالنصيب الأكبر بحصة تصل إلى 48.5%، تليها أسواق غرب أوروبا واليابان بحصص تبغ 19% و10% على التوالي.

Ghitha Reports AED 80 Million in Profit for Q2-2022 as Sales Hit New High

Abu Dhabi, UAE; 2 August 2022: Ghitha Holding PJSC, the leading regional foodstuff trading and distribution company, and subsidiary of International Holding Company (IHC), has announced its second quarter results for 2022 with profit of AED 80.65 million, surging by more than 471% for the same period last year.

 

Ghitha reported record-breaking numbers, led by its revenue reaching AED 576 million, which shows immense growth of 276%, soaring up from AED 153 million in Q1-2021. It has overseen a solid push to expand the company’s product portfolio and become a key player in the food industry, which has lead to the company’s total assets crossing AED 4.1 billion for the first half of 2022, compared with AED 1.4 billion for the year ending 2021. 

 

Ghitha’s strong set of financials reflect its high-yielding strategic expansion of its distribution, operation, frozen food, agriculture, and livestock divisions. With a focus on supporting the national food security agenda, the company has successfully grown its multi-sector platform to build further scale, diversification of assets and target acquisitions with high returns.

كما سجلت شركة غذاء أرقامًا قياسية تقودها إيراداتها التي بلغت 576 مليون درهم إماراتي، وهو ما يمثل نموًا مرتفعاً جداً وبنسبة بلغت 276٪، حيث ارتفعت من 153 مليون درهم إماراتي في الربع الأول من عام 2021. كما قامت غذاء بدفعة قوية لتوسيع محفظة منتجات الشركة وأصبحت لاعبًا رئيسيًا في صناعة المواد الغذائية. في المقابل، تجاوز إجمالي أصول الشركة 4.1 مليار درهم إماراتي للنصف الأول من عام 2022، مقارنة بـ 1.4 مليار درهم إماراتي للعام المنتهي في عام 2021.

The Rockefeller Foundation Launches the Vaccination Action Network to Strengthen Health Systems and Scale Up Covid-19 Vaccinations in sub-Saharan Africa

Amref Health Africa selected as implementing partner to provide technical assistance for the new peer-to-peer learning network

NAIROBI, Kenya, August 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rockefeller Foundation announces the launch of the Vaccination Action Network (VAN), a USD$7.4 million locally-led, peer-to-peer learning initiative designed to engage public health decision-makers across sub-Saharan Africa and bolster their efforts to strengthen health systems while scaling up Covid-19 vaccine demand strategies. Sabin Vaccine Institute and Dalberg are the secretariat for the network, while Amref Health Africa (Amref) is playing a key role to guide and administer subgrants to local organizations in participating countries so that they can implement vaccine demand generation strategies discussed during the learning sessions.

The network is already connecting ministry of health officials, implementing partners, and other key actors across Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda through activities designed to take place within and between countries (intra- and cross-country), so participants can share lessons learned and best practices for boosting local demand for Covid-19 vaccines. Plans to expand to other countries in the region are underway as well.

"The Vaccination Action Network's community-based approach brings together our counterparts from across the region and country. This collaboration is the key to finding and implementing the right vaccination approach," said Dr. Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Uganda. In a recent VAN learning session focused on Wakiso district, Dr. Mathias Lugoloobi, District Health Officer in Uganda's central Wakiso District echoed this sentiment, saying that "for strategies to be successful, the community alone must have the final say."

While more than 60 percent of people have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 globally, just 20 percent of people in Africa have received full doses. Inconsistent and inequitable access to supplies initially hindered the continent's vaccination campaigns. However, uptake is now primarily impacted by complex delivery scenarios, limited access to vaccination centers, and other ongoing demand barriers, such as vaccine hesitancy and waning concerns about Covid-19 infection.

VAN's objective is to help decision-makers understand the drivers behind vaccination and support initiatives that will increase Covid-19 vaccine uptake, while strengthening routine immunization so that health systems are better equipped to respond when the next pandemic strikes. This reflects The Rockefeller Foundation's regional commitment to support localized solutions, empower community representatives, and create more resilient health systems.

"The Vaccination Action Network is helping to establish new channels of communication that will consistently elevate regional learnings, solutions, and leadership," said William Asiko, Vice President of The Rockefeller Foundation Africa Regional Office. Peer-to-peer learning is an important tool for officials who are working to address these challenges. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, this type of intra- and inter-country coordination has helped the continent scale up genomic sequencing and secure essential tools, including personal protective equipment and diagnostic tests.

"By encouraging officials to come together, the Vaccination Action Network is opening new dialogues that emphasize regional solutions to local challenges," said Githinji Gitahi, Group CEO at Amref. VAN will host monthly intra-country sessions and multiple cross-country discussions before the end of the calendar year, with the goal of turning learnings from these sessions into actionable solutions. To facilitate this, VAN is supporting Amref through a USD$5 million grant to design and implement tailored strategies that better reflect local needs and address demand barriers for increased vaccine uptake.

Prior to the launch, VAN hosted two cross-country and five intra-country discussions, which have already yielded results. Following a May VAN session focused on improving vaccine understanding and uptake, the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda is now working to train "vaccination champions" in the Wakiso district. The goal is for champions to connect with communities about the benefits of vaccines, address their questions and concerns, and ultimately encourage vaccination through community-based strategies that have proved successful in past epidemic control settings in Uganda.

"One of our biggest takeaways from the VAN conversation was that we needed to do more to engage communities with accurate and approachable information on Covid-19 vaccines, leaning on lessons learned from other health challenges such as HIV and Ebola," said Mohammed Lamorde, Head of Global Health Security at IDI. "That's why our program focuses on working with trusted community members and leaders to equip them with the tools they need to encourage greater uptake of vaccines within their communities."

VAN represents the Global Vaccination Initiative (GVI)'s first major investment in overcoming low vaccine demand in Africa. Launched in April 2022, GVI is The Rockefeller Foundation's USD$55 million effort to support country-led efforts to fully vaccinate 90% of the most at-risk populations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean over the next two years.
