Dubai – Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA FZE and Mercedes-Benz Trucks have reached a milestone with the sales of the 100,000th Mercedes-Benz Actros in the Middle East and in North Africa (MENA). The celebration of this occasion took place on September 1, 2016 at the Regional Center of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA in Jebel Ali, Dubai, where the 100.000th Actros Truck was ceremonially handed over to the customer, Messrs. Al Khaldi from Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The event was held in the presence of Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Daimler Trucks and Buses, Sheikh Khaled Juffali representing E.A. Juffali Brothers Saudi Arabia and Roland Schneider, President & CEO of the Daimler Commercial Vehicles Regional Center in Dubai.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the core market in the MENA region for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, with nearly 44,000 Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks having been delivered since 1997.  This result is closely linked to the successful and long lasting business relationship between Daimler and its General Distributor in KSA, Juffali Industrial Products Company (JIPCO).

The milestone truck, a 4x2 tractor-head Actros 2041S, is part of a larger 200 unit order by Messrs. Al-Khaldi, who is a long-lasting customer of Mercedes-Benz and JIPCO. The truck handed over was assembled at National Automobile Industry Company Ltd. (NAI) in Jeddah and is equipped with the Mercedes Powershift automated gearshift and Fleetboard Telematics system enhancing fuel efficiency, as well as Mercedes-Benz Accessories as design elements.

Trend Micro 1H Security Roundup Report Showcases Evolution of Ransomware and BEC Scams

As Trend Micro predicted, 2016 has proven to be a year of online extortion through various malicious attack methods. Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in security software and solutions, today published its security roundup report, “The Reign of Ransomware,” which analyzes the trends in attacks and vulnerabilities seen throughout the first half of this year. The report provides extensive data surrounding the rise and impact of attacks, such as a 172 percent increase in ransomware and $3 billion in losses due to business email compromise (BEC) scams so far in 2016, as well as nearly 500 vulnerabilities in a variety of products.

“Ransomware is capable of crippling organizations who face it, and the cybercriminals spearheading these attacks are creatively evolving on a continuous basis to keep enterprises guessing,” said Raimund Genes, chief technology officer for Trend Micro. “It has dominated the threat landscape so far in 2016, causing immense losses to businesses across multiple industries. Enterprises must adopt multi-layered security solutions to optimally combat these threats that could attempt to penetrate corporate networks at any time.”

The following report findings highlight trends from the first half of 2016:

• Ransomware dominates the threat landscape: The occurrence of ransomware families nearly doubled, with an increase of 172 percent, in the first half of 2016 compared to 2015, further establishing ransomware as a prevalent and pervasive threat. Variants are designed to attack all levels of the network.
• BEC scams spread across the world: The FBI listed more than 22,000 victims in 2016 to date, with more than US $3 billion in losses. Trend Micro has found that the U.S. is the most targeted country for these attacks.
• New vulnerabilities and ransomware strengthen attacks through exploit kits: The declining use of Angler EK can be attributed to the arrest of 50 cybercriminals. As such, other EKs have taken its place, including new players like Rig and Sundown.
• Rising number of vulnerabilities found in Adobe Flash and IoT platforms: Trend Micro and the ZDI reported several significant browser and kernel vulnerabilities, which were identified during the Pwn2Own competition
• Incidents of data breaches plague various industries: Both private and public sectors fell victim to data breaches in the first half of the year, including Myspace and Verizon, several hospitals and government entities.
• Updates in Point-of-Sale malware give rise to new attacks: FastPoS came equipped with efficient credit card theft capabilities, affecting small to medium businesses across the globe, including some in the U.S. FighterPoS also made its debut, showing worm-like qualities that allowed cross-network infection.
• Exploits revive old vulnerabilities in their attacks: Shellshock exploits increased in the first half of the year, despite available patches, with thousands of new exploits seen each month. This is another example of the benefit to virtual patching, which provides faster protection to enterprise networks when vulnerabilities surface.
• Cybercriminals defy the odds with banking Trojans: Trojans like QAKBOT increased their attacks following the arrest of the creators of DYRE. This variant goes after crucial information including banking credentials, browsing habits and other sensitive user data.

In total, 79 new ransomware families were identified in the first six months of the year, which surpasses the total number of new families found in all of 2015. Both new and old variants caused a total of US $209 million in monetary losses to enterprises. Ransomware attacks found in the first half of 2016, like BEC scams, originated from emails 58 percent of the time.

Research shows both growth and evolution in vulnerabilities and exploit kits (EKs), as well. Angler was found to steadily decrease in use, while other EKs, like Neutrino, filled the void. New vulnerabilities and ransomware were added to keep EKs up to date and effective. Unpatched software continues to provide additional opportunities for attackers to infect networks via EKs.

In the first half of 2016, Trend Micro discovered 473 vulnerabilities in a variety of products, with 28 coming from Adobe Flash and 108 from Advantech’s Web Access, demonstrating the full capabilities of the company’s research teams.

“While it’s unfortunate for us, cybercriminals are resilient and flexible when it comes to altering an attack method each time we find a patch or solution,” said Ed Cabrera, chief cybersecurity officer for Trend Micro. “This creates massive problems for enterprises and individuals alike since the threats change as often as solutions are provided. It bodes well for businesses to anticipate being targeted and to prepare accordingly, implementing the latest security solutions, virtual patching and employee education to mitigate risks from all angles.”

• برمجيات الفدية الخبيثة تهيمن على المشهد: ازداد عدد برمجيات الفدية الخبيثة إلى الضعف تقريباً، حيث سجل صعوداً بنسبة 172 في المائة خلال النص الأول من عام 2016 مقارنة مع عام 2015، كما ارتفع عدد هذه البرمجيات التي تمثل الآن تهديداً واسع الانتشار، إذ ظهرت برمجيات جديدة بمقدورها مهاجمة الشبكة على كافة المستويات.
• عمليات الاحتيال عبر البريد الإلكتروني الخاص بالأعمال تنتشر في جميع أنحاء العالم: أحصى مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي أكثر من 22 ألف ضحية خلال عام 2016 حتى الآن وخسائر تفوق 3 مليار دولار أميركي. وذكر تقرير ’تريند مايكرو‘ أن الولايات المتحدة الأميركية هي البلد الأكثر استهدافاً من قبل هذا النوع من الهجمات.

ويبين البحث نمو وتطور كل من نقاط الضعف والأدوات البرمجية الخبيثة على حد سواء، وتم رصد انخفاض كبير بحجم استخدام برنامج Angler، في حين جاءت أدوات خبيثة أخرى لتحل مكانه مثل Neutrino؛ وتم إضافة نقاط ضعف وبرمجيات فدية خبيثة جديدة لإبقاء فعالية هذه الأدوات؛ كما لا تزال البرمجيات غير المحمية الأكثر عرضةً لهجمات الأدوات البرمجية الخبيثة التي تخترق الشبكة.

South Africa touted as new hotspot for wind power installation, says GlobalData

South Africa is the new hotspot for wind installation and has great potential for capacity addition over the next four years. Over 3 Gigawatts (GW) is expected to be installed by 2020, bringing the country’s cumulative capacity up to 5.6 GW, according to research and consulting firm GlobalData.

The company’s latest report states that until 2012 the wind industry in South Africa was almost non-existent, with just about 10 Megawatts (MW) of cumulative installed capacity, which was installed over 10 years. Since then, installed capacity has swiftly improved, with 30 MW installed in 2013, 606 MW in 2014 and 483 MW in 2015.

Pavan Vyakaranam, GlobalData’s Analyst covering Power, explains: “Despite the large capacity additions in 2014 and 2015, South Africa is still new to the wind industry, and it has huge wind power potential. At this point it is very important to have a system to determine wind speeds and other factors throughout the expanses of the country in order to plan installations, future capacity and infrastructure development in accordance with the wind potential in the different regions and sites.

“For example, in the same region there may be multiple wind sites and each site may have different wind speeds and potential due to different altitudes and terrains. A system that maps these sites and their wind potential would be highly instrumental for the government as well as for power producers in several aspects of planning, such as turbine size, fixing tariffs, and developing roads and transmission infrastructure.”

GlobalData believes that South Africa’s newfound focus on wind power will push the country closer to reaching its climate targets. In 2015, South Africa submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Commitments (INDC) ahead of the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21), stating that it intends to strike a balance between the much-needed development of power capacity and the necessity to limit greenhouse gas emission.

Vyakaranam continues: “The energy sector is currently the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in South Africa, emitting close to 250 million tons (MT) of carbon dioxide equivalent. With more capacity additions underway, wind power will account for reductions to greenhouse gas emissions in South Africa by an estimated 6.4 MT in 2020 and then 12.7 MT in 2025.”

ويعتبر عزيزي مينا أكبر مشاريع شركة عزيزي للتطوير العقاري في إمارة دبي، وسيتم إنجازه بقيمة إجمالية تبلغ نحو 750 مليون درهم. ويتكون المشروع من مبنى يحتوي على طابق أرضي وتسعة طوابق، ويتضمن 120 شقة بغرفة نوم واحدة، و58 شقة بغرفتي نوم، بالإضافة إلى أربع شقق بنتهاوس فاخرة.

ويُقام المشروع على قطعة أرض تبلغ مساحتها 120,989 قدماً مربعة، وتتميز بإطلالتها الرائعة على المياه اللازوردية للخليج العربي، وتقدم وصولاً عل مدار العام إلى نخبة من أبرز المعالم والوجهات السياحية في دبي، ما يجعلها وجهة عطلات جذابة وفاخرة وراقية للمستأجرين المحتملين.

ويحمل مشروع عزيزي مينا أهمية خاصة لكل من الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس مجلس إدارة شركة عزيزي للتطوير العقاري، حيث تم اختيار هذا الاسم لمشروع الشقق الفندقية الفاخر تيمناً بالحفيدة الأولى لرئيس مجلس الإدارة، ميرويز عزيزي، كريمة نجله فرهاد عزيزي، الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة. ويعني اسم "مينا" الحب بلغة البشتو، وهي اللغة الأم لعائلة عزيزي، ليمثل هذا الاسم بداية ميمونة ومباركة لهذا المشروع الفريد، والذي سيتم الإشراف على إنجازه شخصياً من قبل رئيس مجلس الإدارة ميرويز عزيزي.

ويتميز مشروع عزيزي مينا بشخصيته الخاصة وتصميمه الفريد وموقعه المميز على هلال نخلة جميرا. ويمكن للسكان التطلع إلى مستوى متقدم من الخدمة مقارنة مع الشقق الفندقية الأخرى، والتي تشمل مجموعة من الخدمات المنزلية الراقية للسكان. وسيكون بمقدور السكان التنعم بروعة الإطلالة الساحرة على أفق المدينة الخلاب، والاستمتاع بما تقدمه هذه الوحدات من فخامة ورفاهية.

InterServ’s Heroes of the Dungeon Action RPG Mobile Game Begins Beta

Largest roster of playable heroes ever for an action RPG

August 25^th, 2016, Taipei, Taiwan – From the renowned developer InterServ International comes the all-new 3D mobile action RPG Heroes of the Dungeon (HoD).  The game features the largest roster of playable Heroes ever found in a dungeon crawler action RPG.  There will be 20 originally designed Heroes offered at launch, each with 4 distinctive skill sets that are upgradable and hundreds of equipment to forge.  Currently, HoD is conducting its second beta program in South East Asia, with an impressive retention rate of 55%.  Based on feedbacks from these 50k+ beta players, HoD is not a walk in the park when it comes to gameplay difficulties, both in the solo campaign as well as in the various multiplayer modes.  The development team at InterServ have also updated the game on August 23^rd with numerous game improvements and new features based on focus group testing from the first round, most noticeably includes two new game modes, user interface optimization, tweaks in the beginner’s tutorial, and revision to couple of the Hero’s design.  Heroes of the Dungeon is on schedule for a worldwide release in October 2016 on both iOS and Android.

Massive World with Rich Content

Heroes of the Dungeon offers a rich lore with a campaign story tying together the fate of all the Heroes.  The game’s over-world takes place on a war torn continent between four kingdoms, Tytania, Nirvash, Darkwood and Behrend. 

The game starts off with the main protagonist, Lance the Berserker, as he sets out on his quest for revenge, and uncovers the great conspiracy behind the Great War between Light and Darkness. 

Throughout the solo campaign, players will comes across characters that are friends and foes, and some boss battles will result in the boss character eventually joining the player side and become a playable character. There will be 150 solo campaign stages available at launch with more to come as the game updates.

Many Heroes, Many Paths

With 20 heroes at launch, players need not worry about which character class to start the journey with. In Heroes of the Dungeon, new heroes will be made available to the player once the pre-requirement is fulfilled; these requirements varies from reaching a certain level, completing certain in-games tasks, to time-limited offers.

From the Western fantasy style of Berserker, Shadow Archer and Paladin, to the Eastern fantasy style of Monkey King, Ascetic Monk and Samurai, each hero is unique with greatly varying strengths, weaknesses and with hundreds of skills at your disposable.

Melee Heroes such as Lance the Berserker and Elliott the Undead King offers high damage output and good defense. Range Heroes such Cloris the Shadow Archer and Beatrice the Mage offers crowd control attacks and magic alignment attacks for special enemies. Tank Heroes such as Orobas the Minotaur and Benidict the Guardian offers damage absorption with high HP. 

Though player control one hero at a time during solo mission, player can choose up to three heroes to enter each dungeon and swap on the fly according to encounter and environment changes.  As for multiplayer modes, players will bring two to three Heroes onto the stage depending on game match types.  The possibilities are endless when it comes to battle party composition, a change in hero, an upgrade or even a variation of skill combo could turn the tide of battle.

Every Adventure Is Full Of Surprises

Heroes of the Dungeon offer dynamic dungeon stages where the system generates stages at random to provide a refreshing experience every time.   

The game’s dungeon environment design varies from typical ancient corridors to volcanic lava stages, each filled with deathly traps that test the player’s skills. 

Not forgetting the hidden treasure throughout that offers unlimited loot for crafting gears and upgrading heroes, this is a hackn’ slash RPG title where players are sure to sink in hundreds of hours into.

Stunning Visual and Fluid Combat

As mobile game development matures, more action RPG titles become available, but many action RPG games neglect the smoothness of gameplay as they seek to produce jaw-dropping visuals. For Heroes of the Dungeon, the development team took extra effort in hardware optimization to make sure the game plays smoothly across as many devices as possible, striking a balance between fluid gameplay, great character details, rich environments, smooth combat and great audio and visuals.  The game runs on the Unity engine and can be enjoyed with Android 4.0.3 and above, as well as iOS 5.5.1 and above.

Exclusive MOBA Mode

Gamers of today expect more in terms of gameplay and game modes, aside from the 4 single player modes, Heroes of the Dungeon offers 6 different competitive modes. 

From a more standard fare of 1 on 1 Runestone battle, 3 on 3 death match PvP, to guild versus guild battles; the most innovative of all is the Bridge of Arbitration mode.  The Bridge of Arbitration is a MOBA mode offers 2 on 2 MOBA fights, players represents either the blue or the red side and the main goal is to destroy the opponent’s nexus tower within the time limit or score more points than the opponent for a win. 

This exclusive MOBA style gameplay will exercise every ounce of the player’s ability to control their Heroes and understanding the skill combos between heroes as well as how to counter opponent tactics.  Bridge of Arbitration comes with online leaderboards and every week the top players will be rewarded with in-game items for their achievements, and some rare items will only be available here, hence the Bridge of Arbitration will sure stir up much multiplayer mayhem!
