H.E Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah inaugurates International Perishables Expo and International Plant Expo Middle East

His Excellency Engineer Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality led the inauguration ceremonies today (October 5, 2015) of the 7th International Perishables Expo Middle East (WOP DUBAI), the GCC region’s only dedicated exhibition for fresh edible food and the 10th International Plants Expo Middle East (IPM DUBAI), the most important plant show in the Gulf region, which will run until October 7, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exciting three-day events are expected to throw the spotlight on the rapidly growing and vibrant global perishables and horticulture industries.

Spread across over 8,000 square meters of exhibition space, WOP DUBAI is poised to receive visitors coming from over 80 countries. This year’s show is featuring 14 official country pavilions, which also reflect a 24 per cent increase in exhibitors as compared to last year. According to a recent survey, 51.6 per cent of visitors will visit IPM DUBAI with the intent to sign purchase contracts or make new purchases, while 48.3 per cent will visit with the hope to make preparations for future purchase contracts at the fair. Both shows are expected to receive more than 7000 participants demonstrating a 26 per cent increase from last year.

Engineer Fatima Al Kalbani, the Acting Director of the Plant Health and Development Department, Ministry of Environment and Water, said, “The Ministry participation in this year's editions of IPM DUBAI, comes based on the ministry's keenness to promote the facilitation of horticultural businesses through informing the participating companies and customers about the procedures and requirements for import and export of plants and plant products as well as about the ministry customer electronic services. Our participation also is to learn from the experiences of other countries in the field of horticulture aiming to achieve sustainable development and to improve our: procedures, actions and services to protect our plant wealth and to prevent entry of horticultural pests, and to facilitate procedures for import/export. “

سعادة المهندس حسين ناصر لوتاه يفتتح المعرض الدولي للخضار والفواكه والمعرض الدولي للزهور والنباتات في الشرق الأوسط

ترأس سعادة المهندس حسين ناصر لوتاه، مدير عام بلدية دبي، مراسم افتتاح النسخة السابعة للمعرض الدولي للخضار والفواكه في الشرق الأوسط، الحدث الوحيد على مستوى دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي المتخصص بالأغذية الطازجة؛ والنسخة العاشرة من المعرض الدولي للزهور والنباتات في الشرق الأوسط، المعرض الأهم على مستوى منطقة الخليج في مجال الزهور والنباتات، واللذان سينعقدون حتى 7 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول الجاري في مركز دبي التجاري العالمي. ومن المتوقع أن يسلط هذان الحدثان، الضوء على قطاعي تجارة الخضار والفواكه والنباتات والزهور المتناميين بإطراد حول العالم.

ويستقطب "معرض دبي الدولي للخضار والفواكه"، الذي يقام على مساحة عرض تقدر بـ8.000 متر مربع، مشاركة واسعة من أكثر من 80 دولة حول العالم – بالإضافة إلى 14 جناحاً وطنياً رسمياً، وبزيادة قدرها 24% في عدد العارضين مقارنة بالعام الماضي. ووفقاً لاستبيان صدر حديثاً، أكد 51.6% من زوار "معرض دبي الدولي للنباتات والزهور" أنهم يتطلعون إلى توقيع عقود وتنفيذ عمليات شراء جديدة على هامش المعرض، في حين أكد 48.3% منهم أنهم يهدفون إلى عقد عقود شراء مستقبلية من خلال المعرض. ومن المتوقع أن يستقبل الحدثان ما يزيد عن 7000 زائر تجاري بما يشكل زيارة بنسبة 26% عن دورة العام الماضي.

وتعليقاً على المشاركة، أفادت المهندسة فاطمة الكلباني، مدير إدارة الصحة والتنمية الزراعية في وزارة البيئة والمياه، أن مشاركة الوزارة في المعرض التجاري الدولي للزهور والنباتات في الشرق الأوسط" في دورته لهذا العام، تأتي انطلاقا من حرص الوزارة على تعزيز ريادة أعمال التجارة الزراعية من خلال تعريف المتعاملين والجمهور بالإجراءات والاشتراطات الخاصة باستيراد وتصدير النباتات والمنتجات النباتية، اضافة الى التعريف بالخدمات الاليكترونية التي تقدمها بهذا الخصوص والتي تمكن المتعامل من الحصول على الخدمات بطرق اليكترونية ميسرة. كذلك تهدف مشاركة الوزارة الاطلاع على تجارب الدول الأخرى في مجال البستنة ، والاستفادة منها لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتطوير الخدمات المتعلقة بأعمال التجارة الزراعية اضافة الى تعزيز حماية الثروة النباتية المحلية ومنع دخول الآفات الزراعية وبما يساهم في سرعة إنهاء الإجراءات الخاصة بالاستيراد والتصدير.

وتشتمل فعاليات "معرض دبي الدولي للنباتات والزهور" على ندوات حول البستنة وعروض تقديمية حول تنسيق الحدائق، بالإضافة إلى "جائزة الشرق الأوسط للتميز في تنسيق الزهور 2015" فضلاً عن جولات على مواقع الإنتاج مثل شركات البستنة وتنسيق الحدائق والمراكز المتخصصة بأعمال الحدائق في المنطقة.  وسيستعرض "معرض دبي الدولي للخضار والفواكه 2015" منتدى الأعمال "يوروفروت " الذي ستنظمه شركة "يوروفروت" والذي سيجمع مزودين محليين وعالميين لمناقشة أبرز التحديات التي تواجه القطاع والفرص المتاحة أمامهم. وسيتاح لصناع القرار فرصة التواصل مع مدراء المشتريات لشركات إنتاج المنتجات الطازجة بالجملة في الشرق الأوسط، وسلاسل الهايبرمارك والسوبرماركت والفنادق والمطاعم وشركات التموين ومنتجي العصائر والتجار وباعة التجزئة.

Minister of Environment & Water chairs 3rd meeting of Coordinating Council of Municipal Affairs

Dubai, UAE, October 4, 2015 – H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, led the third meeting of the Coordinating Council of Municipal Affairs at Ajman Saray Hotel held in the presence of the Council members. At the start of the meeting, H.E. Bin Fahad welcomed the attendees to the event and commended their ongoing sustainable development efforts. He emphasized the importance of coordination among municipalities in implementing national projects, achieving the environmental agenda of UAE Vision 2021 through unified efforts, and adhering to existing legislations developed according to the vision of the wise UAE leaders.

During the meeting, the Council members studied the recommendations made during the sixth forum on the ‘best practices in the field of municipal works’ organized by the Ministry of Environment and Water in June 2015. One of the recommendations is to strengthen the partnership between the municipalities and the business sector in order to better support the environment through creative methods. These innovative measures can be implemented through the development of a broader social responsibility policy and the establishment of a community information system for monitoring the private sector’s participation in environmental growth and development. The forum also recommended visits by municipalities to the cities of different countries to learn their best practices, as well as the creation of a job position related to creativity and innovation in each municipality.

 

The attendees were briefed on the progress made by a team preparing the unified health guide through presentations of the group’s work plan and draft manual. They also reviewed the achievements and proposed work plans of the UAE Building Code Committee over the past years.

Other points discussed during the meeting included fishery protection and development in light of the Ministry-issued Resolution No. 501 of 2015 on regulating fishing and marketing of the lethrinus nebulosus and siganus canaliculatus, during their reproduction season; and the evaluation of existing legislation protecting the country’s fish supply and related achievements for the first half of 2015.  

Additionally, the Council members discussed the Environmental Performance Index, national indicators of air quality and related recommendations, waste management, and the second UAE Green Economy report.

They reviewed as well the “Ozbati” initiative, which aims to regulate animal barns, and its strategic environmental sustainability objectives, the prevention of the spread of agricultural pests and infectious animal diseases, and promotion of food safety and sustainability of domestic production.

The meeting also included discussions on how to further develop guidelines and standards for the Coordinating Council of Municipal Affairs. Participants proposed organizing the billboards across various facades to ensure the preservation of the architectural heritage and character of the city. They also discussed the directional belt proposal to reduce traffic accidents by putting reflective tape for night light hung on the camel’s necks and feet to prevent collision.

On sidelines of Global Islamic Economic Summit 2015

UAE, October 4, 2015 - In line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the Capital of the Islamic Economy, the “aafaq Center for Research in Islamic Economy” will launch the first ‘Islamic Finance Encyclopedia’ and ‘Islamic Finance Directory’ in Arabic, at the 2015 Global Islamic Economic Summit taking place from October 5 to 6, 2015 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

It is worth noting that “aafaq Center for Research in Islamic Economy” was recently established to provide thematic, multi-disciplinary research to address strategic and practical research issues on Islamic economy, the Center develops a competitive portfolio to establish an international platform for experts, practitioners and academics in Islamic economy.

The ‘Islamic Finance Encyclopedia’ comprises twelve volumes covering all aspects of Islamic Finance. The volumes include, Shari’ah Framework of Islamic Finance; Emergence of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs): A Comparative Historical Study with Conventional Financial Institutions; IFIs and Banking Services; Takaful Insurance: A New Trend in Islamic Finance; Islamic Financial Markets & Islamic Financial Instruments; Islamic Arbitration in IFIs; Economic Development in Waqf; Zakah in IFIs; Risk Management and Credit Ratings in IFIs; Governance in IFIs; and Accounting Treatments in IFIs.

"مركز آفاق لأبحاث الاقتصاد الإسلامي" يطلق أول دليل وموسوعة للمالية الإسلامية باللغة العربية

الإمارات، 4 أكتوبر 2015 - تماشياً مع رؤية صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله"، الرامية إلى جعل دبي عاصمة الاقتصاد الإسلامي، يتطلع "مركز آفاق لأبحاث الاقتصاد الإسلامي" لإطلاق أول موسوعة ودليل للمالية الإسلامية باللغة العربية وذلك مع بالتزامن مع إنعقاد القمة العالمية للاقتصاد الإسلامي 2015 والتي تقام يومي 5 و6 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول في فندق مدينة جميرا في دبي.

ويذكر أن مركز آفاق لأبحاث الاقتصاد الإسلامي كان قد تأسس حديثاً لتوفير دراسات وتقارير بحثية متعددة التخصصات لمعالجة مسائل استراتيجية وعملية حول الاقتصاد الإسلامي، حيث يطور المركز سلسلة بحوث تنافسية تهدف إلى إنشاء منصة دولية تضم خبراء وأكاديميين ومختصين بالاقتصاد الإسلامي.

دبي، الإمارات، 4 أكتوبر 2015 - كشفت "إمداد"، الشركة الرائدة في مجال تزويد حلول إدارة النفايات والمرافق المتكاملة في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، عن اختيار جمال لوتاه، الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة، ضمن قائمة المكرّمين في "جائزة الشرق الأوسط الثانية عشرة لتميز الشخصيات التنفيذية" و"جائزة الشرق الأوسط الرابعة لتميز قيادات المستقبل". وتمّ الإعلان عن أسماء الفائزين بالجوائز المرموقة خلال حفل خاص أقيم مؤخراً في فندق "ريتز- كارلتون- مركز دبي المالي العالمي" بحضور نخبة من كبار الشخصيات وصنّاع القرار وروّاد قطاع الأعمال الإقليمي. وتسلّم لوتاه جائزة التميز عن فئة الخدمات، تقديراً لمساهماته القيّمة التي باتت علامة بارزة ضمن قطاع إدارة المرافق والنفايات.

ويتم تنظيم "جائزة الشرق الأوسط لتميز الشخصيات التنفيذية" و"جائزة الشرق الأوسط لتميز قيادات المستقبل" سنوياً من قبل "معهد جائزة الشرق الأوسط للتميز"، في خطوة تهدف إلى تقدير القيادات الشابة والشخصيات البارزة التي كانت لها إنجازات نوعية على مدى مسيرتها المهنية والتي ساهمت في إحداث تحول جذري في البنيّة المؤسسية وصولاً إلى مستوى جديد من النمو والتميز. وشهدت الدورة الأخيرة من الجوائز حضور عدد من أبرز الرؤساء التنفيذيين ورواد الأعمال وكبار الشخصيات الحكومية وصناع القرار والشخصيات المؤثرة ضمن القطاعات الاقتصادية الحيوية.
