Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 14, 2015:  Acer announces the Liquid Jade S that brings additional speed and performance into the Liquid Jade smartphone series. Akin to the original Liquid Jade, the new S version continues to astonish with its superb sleek looks featuring 4G LTE connectivity, true octa-core processing power with 64-bit architecture and a new-and-improved controllable voice-command camera.

The Liquid Jade S will be on display at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! Event on Jan. 5th at The Mirage in Las Vegas.

Epic Speed

The Liquid Jade S was created to be an elegant but powerful smartphone. It premieres the latest 64-bits Octa-core processor from Mediatek (MT6752M) which makes it up to 2.5 times faster than traditional quadcore-powered smartphones currently on the market. Supporting 4G LTE (Cat. 4) ensures speedy connectivity to browse, stream and download almost anywhere in the world.

Sporting a Mali T760 graphics chip, the Liquid Jade S also secures high quality visuals and seamless graphic performance, great for gaming as well as a smooth user-interface experience. Launching on Android 4.4 Jelly Bean, it is Android 5.0 Lollipop ready when available later in 2015.

Legendary Design

As part of the superior designed Liquid Jade family, it boasts a fully curved body with curved surface and gives the eye an impression of elegance and grace. 7.78mm slim and weighting only 116 grams, the Liquid Jade S is amongst the most elegant, lightest 5-inch LTE smartphones on the market; it is also comfortable to hold and use with one hand, thanks to the securing grip provided by the HD-textured rear.

Marvelous Camera

Thanks to its 13MP rear camera with F1.8 aperture, it can produce flawless pictures in any environment, even when the light is scarce. A front camera of 5 megapixels is also on board, to empower users to shoot their best selfie. The Liquid Jade S’ cameras are voice-actionable, and can be commanded with basic terms such as “Cheese” to shoot or “Selfie” to switch from the rear to the front camera and seamlessly snap a perfect smile. The intuitive interface provides users total control over their cameras, from filters through exposure adjustment. Additionally, Acer introduces a series of exclusive modes, made available for the first time on the Liquid Jade S: Dual Shot lets users make a collage of simultaneous shots from the front and rear cameras for picture-in-picture and video-in-video, Gourmet Mode will make Instagram feeds more beautiful with delicious shots. And for non tech-savvy types, Auto-Scene-Detect will intuitively set the best camera settings.

Beyond the exclusive camera features, the Liquid Jade S is compatible with the best technology enhancements brought by Acer. سرعة مذهلة

ابتكرت أيسر في "ليكويد جيد S" هاتفاً ذكياً أنيقاً وقوياً، إذ يشتمل على واحد من أحدث المعالجات ثمانية النواة المصممة وفق معمارية 64 بتاً، وهو MT6752M من شركة "ميدياتك"، ما يجعل الهاتف الجديد أسرع بمرتين ونصف من الهواتف الذكية ذات المعالجات التقليدية رباعية النواة المتاحة حالياً في السوق. أما دعمه لشبكات الجيل الرابع فيعني ضماناً لسرعة تصفح الويب ومشاهدة بث الفيديو وتنزيل الملفات، أيا كان المستخدم في أنحاء العالم تقريباً.

وأعرب جفري جو، النائب الأول للرئيس والمدير العام لقطاع الاتصالات اللاسلكية بشركة ميدياتك، بهذه المناسبة، عن سروره بالعمل مع أيسر في طرحها للهاتف الجديد "ليكويد جيد S، قائلاً إن ميدياتك تُسهم في تسريع انتقال العالم إلى تقنية LTE، وأضاف: "يتسم المعالج MT6752M بأداء كبير يقدّمه إلى السوق الشاملة، فهذه الشريحة تمثل ثماني وحدات معالجة مركزية Cortex-A53 سرعتها 1.5 غيغاهيرتز، وستساعد أيسر على إرضاء مستخدمي أجهزتها ممن يطلبون أنظمة تشغيل "أندرويد" تنقلية بمعمارية 64 بتاً أعلى سرعة وأقوى أداء.

ويقدّم الهاتف الجديد كذلك رسوميات عالية الجودة وأداء رسومياً ممتازاً بفضل شريحة المعالجة الرسومية "مالي T760"، ما يجعله رائعاً للممارسة الألعاب، علاوة على التمتع بواجهة استخدام تتسم بالسلاسة. وقد جرى طرح "ليكويد جيد S" على الإصدارة 4.4 "جيلي بين" من النظام "أندرويد"، لكنه سيكون مستعداً للترقية إلى النظام 5.0 "لولي بوب" عندما يصبح متاحاً في وقت لاحق من العام الجاري.

تصميم مرموق

كاميرا متفوقة

HIKING, 4WD DRIVING AND CULTURAL GUIDED TOURS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO GUESTS, TO EXPLORE THE UNTAPPED REGIONS OF OMAN The recently opened Alila Jabal Akhdar, located in the Al Hajar mountains of Oman has now launched a wealth of Alila experiences, offering guests the chance to discover Jabal Akhdar through its traditions, environment, the roots of its people and their daily rituals. The experiences are led by Alila’s Leisure Concierges - local experts who know the region well and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and stories. From tailored treks reaching Oman’s highest peaks, to castle and fort tours as well as desert driving from Muscat to Jabal Akhdar, there are ‘surprisingly different’ experiences to suit all. EXPLORING ON TWO FEET… A MIRAGE IN THE MOUNTAINS  Starting from the wadi (dry waterway), just a few minutes from the resort, The Mirage in the Mountains is a Trek that takes approximately three hours and is the perfect way to learn about the natural wadi system, the mountain vegetation and observe the various rock formations. Alila Jabal Akhdar’s Leisure Concierge will guide guests on a climb up to discover the local ‘mirage’, the village of Sarab, which is the nearest abandoned village from the resort and the original home of the local community, many of whom are associated with the resort. The area can be freely explored and guests can visit each ‘house’ and marvel at the how the inhabitants lived without electricity or running water, just 15 years ago. The walk ends close to a natural stone formation that forms a water cascade during the rainy season. The Mirage in the Mountains experience takes three hours and costs from OMR 15 (£26) per person. SPLENDOUR OF SAIQ PLATEAU The Saiq Plateau is where guests can embark on the most well known local hike, dubbed ‘The Village Walk’. This walk is suitable for all levels of fitness and winds through the villages of Al Ayn and Shoraighiah, bringing guests up close to the terraced farmlands that grow the region’s prized Damask roses and pomegranates, as well as the intricate irrigation system known as ‘falaj’. Guests will have the chance to engage with local farmers and learn about the rose water distillery process. Those keen on extending this hike can continue the village walk by following route 18A to the abandoned village of Wadi Bani Habib, and walk among the remains of houses that offer a glimpse of traditional life in these valleys. The Saiq Plateau experience includes a picnic lunch and costs from OMR 25 (£43) per person for the four-hour tour and OMR 40 (£68) per person for the six-hour tour.  MISFAT AL ABRIYYIN & JEBAL SHAMS The Misfat Al Abriyyin is an ancient donkey trail, starting at the village of Misfat Al Abriyyin, 950 metres above sea level and following a path through the mountain terrace to Aqbat Al Hamra. The trail continues 1,500 metres upwards to Hayl Al Jawari from where guests can follow a 3.5 kilometre walk to Sharad Al Alamayn or even higher to the top at 2,197 metres. This hike takes approximately five to six hours to ascend and four hours to descend, offering spectacular views of Wadi Bani Awf and the surrounding mountains. The truly adventurous can rise to the challenge and hike up the well-known ‘Summit Walk’ trail to reach the Jebal Shams, (Mountain of Sun) the highest point in Oman at 2,997 metres high. The Misfat Al Abriyyin and Jebal Shams full-day experiences cost from OMR 80 (£136) per person departing Alila Jabal Akhdar at 6:00am. OR ON THE ROAD… A WORLD ABOVE THE MOUNTAINS For those who prefer an off road adventure, Alila Jabal Akhdar’s 4x4s offer the chance to explore the A’roos and Saiq Plateaus. From discovering abandoned villages such as Sarab, witnessing life in local communities and passing by local farming areas, guests will have the chance to take in the full beauty of the region from spectacular vantage points. العبريين درب الحمار القديم، والذي يبدأ من قرية مسفاة العبريين الواقعة على ارتفاع 950 متراً من مستوى سطح البحر والتي ترتبط بطريق يتلوى بين الجبال وصولاً إلى عقبة الحمراء.  يستمر الطريق إلى نحو 1500 متر SOHAR eyes role expanding role in packaging industries

SOHAR Port and Freezone plans to take full advantage of the expansion of its petrochemicals industries in order to attract downstream plastics manufacturers to the logistics hub ahead of the construction of Oman’s first dedicated agricultural terminal. This was the message delivered by SOHAR officials to industry leaders and experts at arabplast 2015 and GPCA PlastiCon 2015 trade shows, both held in Dubai this week. “With the planned construction of an agricultural terminal and anticipated influx of grain products that will accompany its completion, our aim is to attract new investment in food and food processing industries and create a cluster than can feed the region. Grain silos and a sugar refinery are already in the pipeline, and as this sector grows, the opportunities for packaging companies to serve multinational businesses will grow.” “We are pleased to see the response that we have had to the news that more than 1.5 million tonnes of environmentally-friendly packaging materials will soon be produced at SOHAR, led by Oman International Petrochemical Industry Company. This will centre on production of PET typically used in the manufacturing of single-serve beverage and soft drink bottles,” said Executive Commercial Manager, Edwin Lammers. In addition, the Liwa Plastics Project will provide polyethylene and polypropylene to packaging companies interested in setting up operations at SOHAR. This US$3.6 billion steam cracker project is being developed at SOHAR by Oman Oil Refineries & Petroleum Industries and will be integrated with the existing refinery, aromatics plant, and polypropylene plant. But packaging is not the only option, according to Mr. Lammers. “The link between food and plastics is clear. The global packaging industry will generate US$975 billion in sales by 2018, and 60 percent of that will be created in the food industry. Thirty percent of packaging is made from plastics, and 90 percent of the region’s foodstuffs are imported.
