Dubai, United Arab Emirates – May 12, 2026: At a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping economies, industries, and education systems, the UAE is accelerating its ambition to become a global AI hub. Against this backdrop, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai Campus has unveiled NEXORA, a next-generation Artificial Intelligence lab designed to equip students with applied, real-world AI capabilities.

The launch comes as the UAE’s AI market is valued at over USD 3.47 billion and is projected to grow at nearly 44% annually through 2030, with AI expected to contribute up to 14% of the country’s GDP. At the same time, the country is advancing its talent agenda, with artificial intelligence being introduced into school curricula from the 2025–2026 academic year, alongside increasing employer demand for AI and data-driven skills.

NEXORA has been developed as an integrated AI environment where students move from ideation to development and deployment within a single platform. Structured across dedicated zones for ideation, learning, development, and experience, the lab enables users to conceptualise solutions, build prototypes, test applications, and demonstrate outcomes in real-world scenarios.

Commenting on the launch, Dr. S. Sudhindra, Pro Vice Chancellor of MAHE Dubai, said: “The conversation around artificial intelligence has moved from awareness to application. The real differentiator today is not access to tools, but the ability to apply them in meaningful, domain-specific contexts. With NEXORA, we are creating an environment where students are not just exposed to AI concepts, but are expected to build, test, and deploy solutions that reflect real industry challenges. This is essential to developing talent that is relevant from day one.”

A key highlight of the launch was the demonstration of AI applications developed entirely by students, showcasing practical use cases across industries. These included interactive virtual avatars for visitor engagement, real-time facial recognition systems operating on edge devices to ensure data privacy, and intelligent retail inventory solutions designed to improve on-shelf availability and operational efficiency. Additional innovations such as sentiment analysis kiosks, voice-based biometric systems, and interactive learning platforms further demonstrated how AI can be applied across customer experience, retail, and enterprise environments.

The lab is supported by advanced infrastructure, including high-performance computing systems for large-scale model development, edge AI platforms for real-time intelligence, and cloud-integrated environments for scalable experimentation. Industry-standard frameworks and tools are embedded across the ecosystem, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology environments. Looking ahead, MAHE Dubai also plans to introduce a dedicated quantum computing terminal, enabling exploration of next-generation computing and the convergence of AI and quantum technologies.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Dr. Balamurugan Balusamy, Dean and Professor at the School of Engineering and IT, MAHE Dubai, added: “AI cannot be taught effectively in isolation from its application. What differentiates NEXORA is the focus on building systems. Students are working with real data, real constraints, and real use cases, which fundamentally changes how they understand and apply AI. This shift from theoretical learning to applied capability is what will define the next generation of technology professionals.”

Designed as a cross-disciplinary initiative, NEXORA extends beyond engineering to include management, health sciences, media, and other academic domains, reflecting the growing role of AI as a foundational capability across sectors. The lab is also expected to drive research, industry collaboration, and skill development through faculty-led projects, partnerships, and specialised training programmes.

With the launch of NEXORA, MAHE Dubai strengthens its contribution to the UAE’s innovation ecosystem, supporting the development of talent equipped to navigate and shape an AI-driven future. Dubai, UAE, 07 May 2026: du, the leading telecom and digital service provider, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to support and advance the UAE’s In-Country Value (ICV) program. The agreement was signed by HE Hasan Al Nowais, Undersecretary of MoIAT and Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Executive Officer at du, during the 5th edition of Make it in the Emirates (MIITE), which concluded today, underscoring the shared commitment to accelerating national industrial growth and economic resilience.

As part of this agreement, du will join the ICV program establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at enhancing local supply chain, increasing the contribution of local products and services, and reinforcing the role of the private sector in advancing the UAE’s industrial priorities and global competitiveness. Being part of the program will work together to enhance the growth and competitiveness of the UAE's industrial sector both locally and internationally.

HE Hasan Al Nowais, Undersecretary at MoIAT said: “This partnership strengthens the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology — directing demand and procurement opportunities through the ICV Program toward local companies and the national economy, and supporting the localization of vital and priority industries.”

Al Nowais continued: “These partnerships strengthen local supply chains, build a more competitive industrial base, and develop national capabilities across strategic sectors — reinforcing the UAE's position as a global hub for advanced industry. Since its launch, the ICV Program has redirected more than AED 473 billion into the national economy.”

وستعمل "دو" بموجب هذه الاتفاقية على مواءمة ممارسات المشتريات المتبناة في الشركة مع أهداف البرنامج، وتطوير منظومة الموردين المحليين، ودعم تنمية الكفاءات والقدرات الوطنية وذلك عبر أليات وأطر تنسيق وتعاون مع الوزارة.

وفي تعليقه على هذه الاتفاقية قال سعادة حسن جاسم النويس، وكيل وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة: "تعزز هذه الشراكة من مستهدفات الاستراتيجية الوطنية للصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة،  ومن خلال تعاوننا مع شركائنا الاستراتيجيين ومنهم شركة دو، يتم توجيه الطلب وفرص الشراء ضمن برنامج المحتوى الوطني إلى الشركات المحلية والاقتصاد الوطني، دعماً لجهود توطين الصناعات الحيوية وذات الأولوية.

دبي، 8 مايو (آيار) 2026: كشفت طيران الإمارات اليوم عن كسوة مميزة تحمل علم دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بحجم كبير يمتد على هيكل طائرتها الأيقونية إيرباص A380، أكبر طائرة ركاب تجارية في العالم.   ويأتي هذا التصميم الجديد على الطائرة التي تحمل تسجيل A6-EVG، امتداداً لهوية الذيل الشهيرة للناقلة، تجسيداً لمشاعر الفخر والاعتزاز براية الدولة ورمز سيادتها وقيم الانتماء والوفاء للوطن وقيادته.   تأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار حملة طيران الإمارات "تبقى رايتنا عالية في السماء"، استجابةً للمبادرة الوطنية التي أطلقها صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، والتي دعت المواطنين والمقيمين إلى رفع علم دولة الإمارات باعتباره رمزاً يوحّد المجتمع، ويجسّد المسؤولية المشتركة والفخر بقوة الوطن وتماسكه في مواجهة التحديات الأخيرة.   وقال سموّ الشيخ أحمد بن سعيد آل مكتوم، الرئيس الأعلى الرئيس التنفيذي لطيران الإمارات والمجموعة: "منذ تأسيس طيران الإمارات، ظلّ علم دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة حاضراً في صميم هويتنا، يرافق رحلاتنا إلى مختلف أنحاء العالم ويعبّر عن انتمائنا وقيمنا. واستجابة لدعوة صاحب صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، تؤكد هذه الكسوة الجديدة اعتزازنا بوطنٍ كان ولا يزال الداعم الأول لمسيرتنا، ودولةٍ رسّخت نموذجاً عالمياً لما يمكن تحقيقه عندما تتكامل الرؤية مع الطموح والعمل. وستبقى طائراتنا منصات تحمل هذا الرمز بكل فخر، فيما نواصل دورنا في تعزيز حضور دولة الإمارات على الساحة العالمية وترسيخ مكانتها بين الأمم".   وتتألق الكسوة الجديدة للطائرة بألوان علم دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة مجسّدة في تصميم ثلاثي الأبعاد يجمع بين الجرأة والجاذبية، ويمتد بأناقة على جانبي الطائرة.   وحلقت طائرة الإيرباص  A380 ذات الكسوة المميزة على رحلات إلى نيويورك وبريسبن، كما ستستخدم على الرحلات إلى مختلف وجهات طيران الإمارات التي تتم خدمتها بطائرات A380، لتصبح مرئية في الأجواء ومدارج المطارات والمدن في مختلف أنحاء العالم.   ويجري العمل حالياً على تنفيذ نفس هذه الكسوة المبتكرة لتزيين إحدى طائراتها من طراز البوينج 777، التي تُعد ثاني أكبر طائرة ركاب تجارية في العالم بعد الإيرباص A380.   يذكر أن علم الإمارات العربية المتحدة يعد بالفعل رمزاً مميزاً لجميع طائرات طيران الإمارات، حيث يتألق علم الدولة على قمة ذيل طائرات الناقلة، التي تمتلك أحد أكثر أساطيل الطيران شهرةً في العالم، لتحمل بذلك ألوان راية الدولة بشكل يومي عبر القارات والمناطق الزمنية والثقافات.   ويعد هذا التصميم الخاص واحداً من تصاميم عديدة لكسوات طائرات الناقلة تم استخدامها احتفاء بمناسبات وطنية مميزة في دولة الإمارات. ففي عام 2017، قدّمت طيران الإمارات كسوة خاصة تحمل صورة المغفور له بإن الله الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، مؤسس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، على طائرتها رقم 100 من طراز A380 ، في إطار مبادراتها خلال "عام زايد"، حيث حملت عشر من طائراتها هذه الكسوة المميزة خلال العام.   وفي العام نفسه، كشفت الناقلة عن أول تصميم من بين 40 تصميماً لكسوات طائراتها التي حملت شعار معرض إكسبو 2020 دبي
