Aramco signs $11 billion Jafurah midstream deal with international consortium led by Global Infrastructure Partners

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Aramco, one of the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, has signed an $11 billion lease and leaseback deal involving its Jafurah gas processing facilities with a consortium of international investors, led by funds managed by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock.

Jafurah is the largest non-associated gas development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, estimated to contain 229 trillion standard cubic feet of raw gas and 75 billion Stock Tank Barrels of condensate. It is a key component in Aramco's plans to increase gas production capacity by 60% between 2021 and 2030, to meet rising demand.

As part of the transaction a newly-formed subsidiary, Jafurah Midstream Gas Company (JMGC), will lease development and usage rights for the Jafurah Field Gas Plant and the Riyas NGL Fractionation Facility, and lease them back to Aramco for a period of 20 years. JMGC will receive a tariff payable by Aramco in exchange for granting Aramco the exclusive right to receive, process and treat raw gas from Jafurah.

Aramco will hold a 51% majority stake in JMGC, with the remaining 49% held by investors led by GIP. The transaction, which will not impose any restrictions on Aramco's production volumes, is expected to close as soon as practicable, subject to customary closing conditions.

ويُعد حقل الجافورة أكبر مشروع لتطوير الغاز غير المصاحب في المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث يُقدر حجمه بنحو 229 تريليون قدم مكعبة قياسية من الغاز الخام، و75 مليار برميل من المكثفات. ويشكل المشروع عنصرًا أساسًا في خطط أرامكو السعودية لزيادة الطاقة الإنتاجية للغاز بنسبة 60% بين عامي 2021 و2030، لتلبية الطلب المتزايد.

وكجزء من الصفقة، ستقوم شركة الجافورة لنقل ومعالجة الغاز (جي إم جي سي)، باستئجار حقوق التطوير والاستخدام لمعمل الغاز في الجافورة، ومرفق رياس لتجزئة سوائل الغاز الطبيعي، وإعادة تأجيرها مرة أخرى إلى أرامكو السعودية لمدة 20 عامًا. وستحصل شركة "جي إم جي سي" على تعرفة تدفعها أرامكو السعودية مقابل منحها الحق الحصري في استلام ومعالجة الغاز الخام المستخلص من الجافورة.

BlackRock now holds over $100 billion in crypto

 

London – August 14, 2025 – New analysis from Finbold research has revealed that BlackRock has crossed a major milestone in its digital asset strategy, with cryptocurrency holdings now at $104 billion as of August 14, 2025.

The findings, based on blockchain data from intelligence platform Arkham, show that BlackRock’s portfolio currently includes $89.27 billion in Bitcoin (743,310 BTC) and $14.71 billion in Ethereum (3.2 million ETH). This represents a $49.15 billion net increase since the start of 2025, when the firm’s crypto holdings stood at $54.83 billion, comprising $51.16 billion in BTC and $3.59 billion in ETH.

While Bitcoin continues to dominate, accounting for over 85% of the total portfolio, Ethereum has seen the most dramatic growth. At the start of the year, BlackRock held roughly 1.07 million ETH worth $3.59 billion. 

By June 30, that figure had risen to $4.21 billion, and in just six weeks since, the position has more than tripled to $14.71 billion, a 198% increase in ETH volume and a 309% surge in dollar value since January.

“This level of accumulation, particularly in Ethereum, is strategic,” said Jordan, Chief Editor at Finbold and author of the research. “The data shows a clear institutional pivot towards diversifying crypto exposure beyond Bitcoin. BlackRock is making a conviction bet on the infrastructure layer of the blockchain economy.”

The surge in Ethereum holdings comes amid record ETF inflows, rapid DeFi adoption, and renewed optimism around Ethereum’s scaling roadmap. Bitcoin, meanwhile, has grown 34% in volume and 74% in value over the same period, reinforcing its position as the core reserve asset in BlackRock’s digital portfolio.

With $12.53 trillion in total assets under management as of June 30, BlackRock’s $100 billion-plus crypto position accounts for less than 1% of its total portfolio, but signals a decisive commitment to digital assets as part of its long-term investment strategy.

Scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 May 2026, this prestigious tournament will gather an exceptional field of 120 professional women golfers, representing over 20 countries, competing in a 54-hole stroke play format for a prize fund of €400,000. Part of the global Ladies European Tour calendar, played across more than 20 countries on five continents, the MCB Ladies Classic contributes points toward the Order of Merit, Official World Golf Ranking points, and Solheim Cup qualification points. Broadcast live in more than 100 countries, the event will celebrate women’s golf at the highest level against the breathtaking backdrop of the Indian Ocean.

 

Nestled along a stretch of white-sand beach and bordered by lush tropical gardens, the Legend Golf Course was the first championship golf course in Mauritius.
