ومع المُضي قُدمًا في المشروع، أبلغت شركتا Offset8 وiRise حكومة ملاوي عن مدى تقدم برنامج iRise للتحول المناخي والمجتمعي، والذي يركز على استعادة 6000 هكتار من الأراضي المتدهورة في ملاوي، ونشر أكثر من 140000 موقد طهي نظيف، وتحسين الأمن الغذائي.

هناك جهد لإعادة زراعة الغابات على نطاق واسع وهو ما يمثل جوهر هذه المبادرة، مع خطط لزراعة 6 ملايين شجرة أصلية ومنع إزالة الغابات لأكثر من 4 ملايين شجرة، والتي تتمتع بأهمية كبيرة في التصدي للاحتجاز الكربوني، وإحياء التنوع البيولوجي، وتجديد التربة.
