GML the number 1 conglomerate in Mauritius and Chedid Capital join forces in the Insurance brokerage sector in East Africa



JOINT VENTURE: Mauritian conglomerate and Chedid Capital




Dubai, 30th of October 2014: GML, the number 1 Mauritian conglomerate, with an international footprint and Chedid Capital, the multi-awarded insurance and reinsurance regional broker have recently entered into a strategic partnership agreement, signed in Dubai, to form a 50%-50% Joint Venture that aims to play a major role in the insurance brokerage sector across East Africa and the Indian Ocean. The new company called “GML-Chedid & Associates East Africa Ltd” combines GML strong regional presence with Chedid Capital established insurance and reinsurance industry expertise.

GML-Chedid & Associates East Africa Ltd will be incorporated following a year of discussions between GML and Chedid Capital. While the strategic and financial advisory firm Creed Capital was working on structuring the strategic partnership agreement and the subsequent Joint Venture, it encouraged both parties to join forces. GML and Chedid Capital have acknowledged the major synergies that they would offer in delivering together highly performing insurance brokerage services across East Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Arnaud Lagesse, the CEO of GML, is excited about the potential of this partnership. “We are indeed proud to join forces with Chedid, a renowned company. Creed Capital has achieved through its initial mandate all relevant market analysis as well as the preliminary selection of potential acquisition targets in selected countries.

دبي، 30 أكتوبر 2014: وقعت مجموعة "جي إم إل" (GML) المجموعة الأولى في موريشيوس التي تتمتع بحضور عالمي، مؤخراً في دبي، اتفاقية شراكة إستراتيجية مع شديد كابيتال (Chedid Capitalالشركة الإقليمية العاملة في مجال وساطة التأمين وإعادة التأمين الحائزة على عدة جوائز في هذا المجال، بهدف تأسيس مشروع مشترك مناصفة بينهما، من شأنه أن يلعب دوراً محورياً في قطاع وساطة التأمين في منطقة شرق أفريقيا والمحيط الهندي. وتجمع الشركة الجديدة التي أطلق عليها الطرفان اسم "جي إم إل – شديد آند أسوشييتس شرق أفريقيا المحدودة" (GML-Chedid & Associates East Africa Ltd) ما بين حضور "جي إم إل" الإقليمي القوي وخبرة شديد كابيتال الواسعة في مجال التأمين وإعادة التأمين.   

وبموجب بنود الإتفاقية، التي تم صياغتها من قبل شركة الاستشارات الإستراتيجية والمالية كريد كابيتال (Creed Capital سيتم تأسيس "جي إم إل – شديد آند أسوشييتس شرق أفريقيا المحدودة". وحددت "جي إم إل" و"شديد كابيتال" سبل التعاون التي يمكن اعتمادها من أجل تقديم خدمات وساطة تأمين راقية في منطقة شرق أفريقيا والمحيط الهندي.

وعبّر أرنو لاجيس، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة "جي إم إل"، عن تفاؤله حيال الفرص الواعدة التي تحملها هذه الشراكة، قائلاً: "نفخر بتوحيد جهودنا مع شركة شديد المرموقة في مجال وساطة التأمين وإعادة التأمين. وتمتلك شركة "جي إم أل" خبرة كبيرة لمزاولة الأعمال في القارة الأفريقية، التي تحوز حالياً على اهتمام كبير. وسيتيح لنا المشروع الموحد الجديد الدخول في أسواق مربحة في شرق أفريقيا بالاعتماد على خبرة شركة شديد وتواجدنا في هذه السوق ومعرفتها الجيدة، بالإضافة إلى غنى موريشيوس بالمواهب والموارد الوفيرة والبنية التحتية الجيدة، وهي جوانب لا يمكن إغفالها".

MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL GROUP BRANDS LUXURY RESIDENCES IN BANGKOK


Hong Kong, 30 October 2014Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced an agreement to brand and manage 146 luxurious Residences at Mandarin Oriental that will be developed as part of a mixed-use project located on the Chao Phraya River. Situated diagonally across the river from Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, The Residences will be managed by the Group’s legendary Thai hotel. The overall development, which will be known as ICONSIAM, is the largest property undertaking in Thailand and is set to become a new national landmark.
Positioned to reflect the best of contemporary Thai lifestyle, ICONSIAM is set on a 20-acre site and is scheduled for completion in 2018. It will comprise world-class retail, a spectacular waterfront promenade with a variety of exceptional attractions, and some of the world’s most exclusive private apartments. The Residences at Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok are the latest in a line of residential projects that Mandarin Oriental has announced around the world.
