Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 14 May 2026: Dubai Esports & Games Festival (DEF) will host its inaugural Education & Gaming Summit next month, bringing together students, universities, and global industry leaders to unlock meaningful pathways into the gaming sector.

 

Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), free registration is open for students aged 16 and above, and graduates, across the UAE to be part of one of the region’s most future-focused gaming and esports platforms.

 

The summit will focus on ensuring that students and attendees have direct, practical exposure to the industry, as well as opportunities to network with experts, recruiters, and decision-makers shaping the future of gaming, while enhancing their understanding of the evolving gaming ecosystem. 

 

This is part of the Meet and Match – a dedicated networking space where industry professionals, businesses, speakers and educators can connect with students looking for careers in the gaming sector. Leading Dubai universities offering gaming programmes will be present, giving students a unique opportunity to speak with them directly, ask questions, and explore academic pathways into the gaming industry, gaining clear guidance as they plan their next steps.

 

Participants will also gain hands-on career insights — from a CV clinic and internship opportunities to understanding the technical, creative, and soft skills required to succeed in the gaming industry. 

 

Students can also attend a series of workshops during the summit. Topics will focus on a wide range including the use of AI in game development,  the growth of the esports industry with insights on how people can pursue a career, and a live crash course on building playable experiences.

 

Furthermore, the Summit directly supports Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for gaming innovation, talent and investment, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

 

Muna Al Falasi, Director of Esports and Games Strategy at Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said: “The launch of the first DEF Education & Gaming Summit marks a strategic step forward for Dubai Esports & Games Festival, reinforcing our commitment to developing future talent and accelerating industry growth.

The summit provides a high-impact platform for students to engage directly with industry leaders, explore real career opportunities, and understand how to succeed in this rapidly evolving sector. ”

 

As part of the summit, a number of panel discussions will take place during the day. Attendees will hear from experts representing leading local, regional and global companies – such as DMCC, Pixel Perfect MENA, Bandai Namco, Tencent’s Level Infinite  and TikTok LIVE – offering insights into the future of gaming, emerging trends, and opportunities across the ecosystem. 

 

Key panel topics include the ‘Breaking Into the Gaming Industry in Dubai: From Game Design to Publishing’ which will explore Dubai’s growing gaming ecosystem and how to build a career in the region. Attendees can also gain an understanding of how universities are introducing esports programmes and creating pathways as part of the ‘Universities & Esports - Understanding the industry and launching campus programmes’ panel discussion.

 

The DEF Education & Gaming Summit on 4 June forms part of the wider Dubai Esports & Games Festival (22 May – 7 June 2026), a citywide programme of events, competitions, and experiences.  GameExpo will also take place from 5 to 7 June, with early-bird tickets still on sale from AED 10, offering accessible entry into one of the region’s largest gaming events.

دبي-الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 14 مايو 2026: يستضيف مهرجان دبي للألعاب والرياضات الرقمية النسخةَ الأولى من قمة التعليم والألعاب خلال الشهر المقبل، في حدث يجمع طلاب المدارس الثانوية والجامعات وقادة القطاع على مستوى العالم، بهدف فتح آفاق جديدة في هذا المجال الذي يُعدّ من أسرع القطاعات نموا في المنطقة.

 

تتولى مؤسسة دبي للمهرجانات والتجزئة، إحدى مؤسسات دائرة الاقتصاد والسياحة بدبي، تنظيمَ القمة، والتي تفتح باب التسجيل مجانا للطلاب من عمر 16 عاما فما فوق وكذلك الخريجين من جميع أنحاء دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ليجد المشاركون أمامهم إحدى أهم الفعاليات المتخصصة في الألعاب والرياضات الرقمية على مستوى المنطقة، بوصفها نافذةً مفتوحة على مستقبل هذا القطاع.

 

وتهدف القمة إلى دعم الطلاب والحضور عن طريق توفير تجربة عملية مباشرة في هذا المجال، إلى جانب فرص التواصل مع الخبراء ومسؤولي التوظيف وصناع القرار الذين يرسمون ملامح مستقبل قطاع الألعاب، وتوسيع معارفهم المرتبطة بمنظومة الألعاب المتشعبة والمتطورة.

 

وتندرج القمة ضمن فعاليات "اللقاء والتواصل"، وهي مساحة المخصصة للحوار والتواصل بين المتخصصين في قطاع الألعاب، والشركات، والمتحدثين، والمعلمين، والطلاب الباحثين عن فرص عمل في هذا القطاع. كما تشهد القمة حضور مجموعة من أبرز الجامعات الرائدة في دبي، والتي تقدم برامج في مجال الألعاب، لتُتيح للطلاب فرصةً فريدة لإجراء حوارات مباشرة معها، والإجابة على أسئلتهم واستفساراتهم، وتعريفهم بالمسارات الأكاديمية التي تعرفهم بصناعة الألعاب، وتزويدهم بتوجيهات واضحة تنير قراراتهم المستقبلية.

وتنسجم أهداف القمة مع طموحات دبي المتمثلة في ترسيخ مكانتها وجهةً عالمية للابتكار في مجال الألعاب، واستقطاب المواهب والاستثمارات لتحقيق مستهدفات أجندة دبي الاقتصادية D33.

 

وفي تصريح لها، قالت منى الفلاسي، مدير إدارة استراتيجية الرياضة الإلكترونية في مؤسسة دبي للمهرجانات والتجزئة: "يمثّل إطلاق النسخة الأولى من قمّة التعليم والألعاب خطوة استراتيجية لتطوير مهرجان دبي للألعاب والرياضات الرقمية، وهي تُجسّد التزامنا بتطوير المواهب الواعدة وتسريع وتيرة نمو هذا القطاع".

 

وأضافت قائلة: "في ظل النمو المتسارع لهذا القطاع في دبي والعالم، فإنه من الضروري تزويد الشباب بالأدوات والفرص وشبكات التواصل المناسبة التي تسهم في تمكينهم وإطلاق طاقاتهم. فيما تأتي القمّة لتوفّر منصةً تفاعلية ذات تأثير كبير تتيح لهم التواصل مباشرة مع الروّاد في هذا القطاع المهم، وتفتح أمامهم فرصًا وظيفية حقيقية، وتُرشدهم إلى كيفية تحقيق النجاح في عالم سريع التطور".

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة – 7 مايو 2026: اختتمت أمس الخميس فعاليات الدورة الخامسة من منصة “اصنع في الإمارات”، الحدث الصناعي الأبرز على مستوى دولة الإمارات، والتي استضافتها وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة بالتعاون مع وزارة الثقافة، ومكتب أبوظبي للاستثمار، ومجموعة «أدنوك»، وشركة العماد القابضة، ونظمتها مجموعة «أدنيك»، خلال الفترة من 4 إلى 7 مايو الجاري في مركز أدنيك أبوظبي، تحت شعار “الصناعات المتقدمة.. بنُظهر أقوى”.

وجمعت الدورة الخامسة نخبة من المسؤولين الحكوميين، وقيادات القطاع الخاص والصناعي، والمستثمرين، والمبتكرين، ورواد الأعمال، وصناع القرار من مختلف القطاعات، بمشاركة أكثر من 146 ألف زائر، بنسبة نمو تجاوزت 19% مقارنة بالدورة السابقة، إلى جانب 1245 جهة عارضة من 12 قطاعًا صناعيًا، وعلى مساحة بلغت 88 ألف متر مربع، لتسجل النسخة الأكبر منذ إطلاق المنصة.

وشهدت الدورة توقيع أكثر من 200 صفقة ومذكرة تفاهم شملت المشتريات، والاستثمارات، والمحتوى الوطني، وبرامج التمكين، والحلول التمويلية، والمشاريع التكنولوجية، بما يعكس أهمية المنصة ودورها في تعزيز تنافسية القطاع الصناعي الوطني، وربط الصناعة بالتكنولوجيا المتقدمة، وتوطين الصناعات الحيوية، وزيادة الصادرات الصناعية، وتعزيز مكانة دولة الإمارات على الخريطة الصناعية العالمية.

عزيمة لا تلين

وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد معالي الدكتور سلطان بن أحمد الجابر، وزير الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة، أن منصة “اصنع في الإمارات” تأتي بعد تجربة مرت بها المنطقة وأثّرت تداعياتها على العالم، مشيرًا إلى أن دولة الإمارات واجهتها بعزيمة لا تلين، ووحدة راسخة، وهدف واضح لا يتغير. وقال معاليه: "إن التاريخ يسجل الأحداث والتحديات، ويسجل أيضاً كيف استجابت لها الدول، وماذا صنعت بعدها".

180 مليار درهم فرص مشتريات

وأعلن معاليه خلال الدورة الخامسة رفع قيمة فرص المشتريات الصناعية التراكمية من 168 مليار درهم إلى 180 مليار درهم خلال السنوات العشر المقبلة، بهدف توطين أكثر من 5000 منتج في قطاعات استراتيجية تعزز الأمن الاقتصادي والغذائي والصحي، وترفع استدامة الأعمال.

من الإمارات تبدأ الفرص

واختتم معالي الدكتور سلطان الجابر كلمته برسالة مباشرة إلى العالم قائلاً: "من الإمارات تبدأ الفرص. ومن الإمارات تنطلق الصناعات إلى العالم. ابنوا معنا. واستثمروا معنا. واصنعوا في الإمارات".

استثمارات بقيمة 48 مليار درهم

أعلنت شركة "تعزيز" بالشراكة مع شركة ألفا ظبي القابضة عن استثمار رأسمالي بقيمة 36.7 مليار درهم في كيماويات صناعية جديدة بمدينة الرويس الصناعية، فيما أعلنت «أدنوك» عن 7 مشاريع صناعية رئيسية ضمن برنامج المحتوى الوطني بإجمالي استثمارات تتجاوز 480 مليون درهم. كما أعلن مكتب أبوظبي للاستثمار عن 1.5 مليار درهم مقابل اتفاقيات مؤكدة للمصانع، وأعلنت «مبادلة» عن مشاريع استثمارية في قطاعات التكنولوجيا والغذاء والصحة بقيمة تجاوزت 4 مليارات درهم. ووقعت هيئة مناطق رأس الخيمة الاقتصادية «راكز» اتفاقيتين بقيمة 1.4 مليار درهم، كما وقعت شركة الاتحاد للماء والكهرباء اتفاقية تتجاوز قيمتها مليار درهم، فيما أعلنت «كيزاد» عن استثمارات بقيمة 2.1 مليار درهم، بالإضافة إلى استثمارات أخرى بقيمة 625 مليون درهم.

ممكنات بقيمة 19 مليار درهم

وأعلنت جهات حكومية ومؤسسات مالية عن ممكنات وحلول تمويلية بقيمة 19 مليار درهم، من بينها وزارة الاقتصاد والسياحة، وشركة الإمارات للطاقة النووية، ومكتب أبوظبي للصادرات، وبنك المشرق، ودبي الإسلامي، وصندوق الإمارات للنمو، ومصرف الإمارات للتنمية. وتهدف هذه الممكنات إلى توفير حلول تمويلية تنافسية، وتحفيز الاستثمارات الصناعية، ودعم توسع الشركات الصناعية، وتعزيز تبني التكنولوجيا المتقدمة ورفع تنافسية الصادرات الوطنية.

مشاريع بـ200 مليار درهم لـ"أدنوك"

أعلنت «أدنوك» استهداف ترسية مشروعات بقيمة 200 مليار درهم خلال السنوات الثلاث المقبلة، لتسريع نمو أعمالها وتنفيذ خططها الاستراتيجية، وذلك ضمن ملتقى “اصنع مع أدنوك”، الذي جمع كبار مقاولي الهندسة والمشتريات والإنشاءات مع المصنعين المحليين المعتمدين، بهدف تعزيز أولوية المنتجات المصنعة في الإمارات ضمن جميع مراحل تنفيذ المشاريع.

اتفاقيات بـ104.6 مليارات درهم لـ"تعزيز"

وأبرمت "تعزيز" اتفاقيات طويلة الأمد بقيمة 104.6 مليارات درهم لبيع وتوريد مواد كيماوية أولية تشمل الميثانول، والبولي فينيل كلوريد، وثنائي كلوريد الإيثيلين، ومونومر كلوريد الفينيل، والصودا الكاوية، والملح، والغاز الطبيعي. وتتراوح مدة الاتفاقيات بين 5 و25 عامًا، بما يضمن تأمين الطلب العالمي وتوفير المواد الأولية المحلية الموثوقة، ودعم نمو صناعة الكيماويات في الدولة.

الصندوق الوطني للمرونة الصناعية

كما أطلقت وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة ومصرف الإمارات للتنمية الصندوق الوطني للمرونة الصناعية بقيمة مليار درهم، بهدف دعم القطاعات الصناعية الحيوية، وتعزيز سلاسل الإمداد، وتأمين استمرارية الأعمال وسلاسل التوريد.

تعزيز حضور المنتجات الوطنية

وأطلقت وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة ووزارة الاقتصاد والسياحة سياسة جديدة لتعزيز حضور المنتجات الوطنية في منافذ البيع ومنصات التجارة الإلكترونية، بما يسهم في رفع وعي المستهلكين، وتحفيز المصانع الوطنية، وتحقيق إحلال واردات غذائية تُقدّر بنحو ملياري درهم سنويًا.

برنامج المحتوى الوطني

وشهد برنامج المحتوى الوطني انضمام جهات وطنية جديدة من بينها «دو»، فيما جددت «الاتحاد للطيران» التزامها بدعم البرنامج. كما شارك 22 شريكًا استراتيجيًا في "يوم المحتوى الوطني"، وعقدوا أكثر من 260 اجتماع أعمال ثنائي مع المستثمرين والشركات، بهدف تعزيز الشراكات وخلق فرص صناعية واستثمارية جديدة.

جوائز تكريمية

وكرّمت جوائز "اصنع في الإمارات 2026" القادة والمبتكرين في ست فئات تشمل التكنولوجيا المتقدمة، والصناعة الوطنية، والجودة والمطابقة، والرائد الملهم، وقادة صناعة المستقبل، والحرف التقليدية الإماراتية.

H.E. Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum: Investing in young talent is a pivotal step towards creating future champions and reinforcing the country’s position on the global sports map.

H.E. Eng. Mansoor Buosaiba: The inclusion of cycling athletes in the program reflects a qualitative step that highlights the efforts to develop and nurture a generation capable of setting new performance standards. 

 

UAE, 10 April 2026- The UAE Committee for Talent and Sports Support (UAETSS) held an event at Dubai Autodrome in Motor City, Dubai, to announce the inclusion of a group of young promising athletes in its development programs.  The event was attended by H.E. Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Development and Competitiveness at the Ministry of Sports and Chairman of the Committee, and H.E. Eng. Mansour Buosaiba, President of the UAE Cycling Federation, along with teams from the Ministry, representatives of several sports federations, and media outlets. The event forms part of the ‘Pathway for Sports Champion’ program, which UAETSS launched in partnership with the Elite Sport UAE (ESUAE) in November 2025.

The committee confirmed the selection of Khalifa Al Falasi, who is a motorsports (drifting) athlete, along with three athletes from the UAE Cycling Federation: Falah Al Nuaimi, Sultan Saud, and Afra Khalid. This pivotal move comes as part of UAETSS’ ongoing efforts to expand the talent base in the country and support athletes across different sports.

During the event, H.E. Sheikh Suhail reiterated that the continuation of the ‘Pathway for Sports Champion’ program highlights the ongoing institutional work to nurture sports talent in the UAE under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and in collaboration with the UAE Olympic Committee, the Emirates Committee for Elite and High-Performance Sports and all relevant stakeholders of the national sports sector.  Furthermore, he stressed the expansion of the committee’s support to include specialised sports that contribute to boosting the competitiveness of the national sports ecosystem.

H.E. Sheikh Suhail said: “Through UAETSS’ talent development programs, we aim to offer an integrated professional environment that identifies the aspirations of our athletes and supports them to attain the best results at regional and international levels. We strongly believe that investing in young talents is the cornerstone of our efforts for creating the future champions of UAE sports and strengthening the country’s position on the global sports map. The decision to include specialised sports such as drifting and cycling underscores our vision to support diverse talents and open new horizons for their excellence and achievements.”

For his part, H.E. Eng. Mansoor Buosaiba confirmed that the selection of several cycling athletes for this program indicates a significant step in the development of the sport. Furthermore, this move shows the success of joint efforts to identify and nurture sports talents across the country.

Mansoor Buosaiba said: “At the UAE Cycling Federation, we seek to work closely with all relevant entities to support the young talent and offer them the ideal environment to hone their skills, aligning with global best practices. This also contributes to building a generation capable of achieving remarkable results and representing the UAE in both regional and international competitions.”

He further noted that the next phase will witness greater focus on expanding the base of cycling practitioners and improving training and development programs across all age groups. This aligns with the nation’s ambition to make distinguished accomplishments at continental and international levels. Additionally, H.E. Eng. Mansour Bu Osaiba reaffirmed that investing in young talents is the most optimal path towards building future champions.

The committee continues its efforts under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and in collaboration with strategic partners to build an integrated system for identifying and supporting sports talent across the country. It seeks to prepare athletes to attain high-performance standards through various ambitious initiatives, such as the ‘Pathway for Sports Champion’ program.

The ‘Pathway for Sports Champion’ program is designed to offer a comprehensive developmental environment. By providing specialised training programs, local and international bootcamps, and professional technical and administrative supervision, it helps athletes transition to an elite professional level in line with global best practices.

The program further represents an advanced model of integration between the UAETSS and the ESUAE by supporting outstanding athletes who showcase remarkable progress from the talent programs to the elite programs. The program starts with talent identification and culminates in the creation of champions capable of representing the country in regional, international, and Olympic competitions.

Abu Dhabi to Welcome UAE FoodTech Challenge Finalists with Week-Long Program to Advance Innovation for Global Food Security

 

10 finalists from 7 countries will arrive in Abu Dhabi for intensive week of preparatory sessions ahead of competition’s finale at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

• Winners to receive funding support and access to network of UAE and international partners, enabling them to scale innovative solutions across the Global South
• Now in its third edition, the FoodTech Challenge brings together leading early-stage agri-tech startups to transform food systems in arid climates

 

 

Abu Dhabi, UAE: 9 January 2026 – Ten global agri-tech innovators will arrive in Abu Dhabi this week to compete for the top prize at the UAE FoodTech Challenge, an international competition designed to support breakthrough solutions for global food security. 

Ahead of the finale at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the finalists – whose ventures span protein-producing insect farms to AI-powered tools for minimizing food waste – will participate in a series of workshops and partner-led sessions designed to offer practical insights into Abu Dhabi’s innovation ecosystem and build industry connections with the potential to help scale their businesses from UAE to serve the Global South and beyond.

The UAE FoodTech Challenge seeks to identify and scale promising agri-tech solutions in arid and climate-stressed environments where food security is most at risk. Organized by the International Affairs Office at the UAE Presidential Court and Tamkeen, and delivered in partnership with the Gates Foundation, ne’ma, and Silal, the third iteration of FoodTech Challenge focuses on two primary areas: increasing food production and reducing food loss and waste. 

This year’s finalists come from 7 countries, including the UAE, UK, US, Malaysia, Kenya, Egypt, and France. Previous winners have secured over USD 48 million in funding and launched 50 pilot projects across multiple markets.

Highlights of the finalists’ schedule over the upcoming week in Abu Dhabi include policy discussions at the ne’ma Food Loss and Waste Majlis and a visit to Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, where they will gain insights into Abu Dhabi’s role as a champion of startup growth. Previous FTC winners have gone on to join Hub71’s elite cohorts, gaining access to world-class mentorship and growth opportunities in the UAE.

Finalists will also participate in the KBW Ventures Pitch Clinic with H.R.H. Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud to refine their pitches and prepare for investor engagement, and tour Silal’s cutting-edge Innovation Oasis and hear how past FTC winners have partnered with the UAE’s leading agri-tech food company to accelerate ideas from concept to market. The itinerary also includes a visit to the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture to explore the latest research into climate-resilient crops, and an exclusive networking evening hosted by VentureSouq, fostering connections with leading regional sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors from across the GCC.

Since the finalists were announced on the sidelines of 2025 United Nations General Assembly in New York, the ten teams have participated in six remote preparation workshops focusing on incubation support, local market incorporation, and R&D.

The winners will be revealed at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week – the region’s flagship platform for advancing global sustainability and climate innovation – and selected in a final round of judging by a panel of eight experts representing diverse sectors, including: H.E. Mariam Almheiri, Chair of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court of the UAE; Rima Al Mokarrab, Chair of Tamkeen; H.R.H.
