We’re in the middle of summer in Abu Dhabi, and the next two weeks bring one of the year’s biggest arena nights, a colourful family sing-along, art exhibitions, a new museum offer for UAE residents, indulgent meals and more.   • Board Game Adventure Summer Camp, Louvre Abu Dhabi, 11–21 August: Children aged 5–14 explore the history and mechanics of board games through hands-on play, including traditional Emirati games, while designing and building their own board game each day.
  • CoComelon Sing-A-Long Live, Etihad Arena, 15–16 August: Little ones can dance and sing along with JJ and friends – with a special appearance by Blippi – in this interactive live arena show based on the world's most-streamed children's series.
  • Legacy Camp at Qasr Al Hosn, House of Artisans and Al Maqta'a Museum, until 20 August: Children aged 5–14 discover Abu Dhabi's living heritage across three iconic cultural sites, from traditional crafts and storytelling to bridge-building challenges and engineering-inspired workshops.
  • Abu Dhabi Summer Sports, ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, until 23 August: The region's largest indoor sports event returns with more than 25 tracks and fields across 12 sports, plus a free running track and free spectator entry for the whole family.
Culture and discovery
  • 30% off museum tickets for UAE residents until 30 September: UAE residents can enjoy a 30% discount on entry to Louvre Abu Dhabi, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum, with tickets priced at AED 49 for a single museum. Children under 18 and seniors aged 60+ enjoy free admission.
  • The Silk Fold by ETHR, until 4 September: Beneath Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental's iconic Grand Dome, this immersive installation blends Emirati craftsmanship, coffee culture and design-led storytelling into a relaxed evening experience, open daily.
  • Shezad Dawood: Skin of Dreams, Cultural Foundation, until 20 September: The artist's first mid-career retrospective exhibition brings together more than 40 works spanning painting, sculpture, film and virtual reality.
  • A Board Game Adventure, Louvre Abu Dhabi's Children's Museum, until April 2027: Step into a life-size game environment exploring board games as a universal expression of learning and connection, featuring 24 artworks and artefacts spanning ancient Egypt to Edo-period Japan, plus a personalised, wristband-guided journey through interactive challenges.
For couples, friends and solo travellers
  • The Revolution Tour – Sonu Nigam, 21 August, Etihad Arena: Bollywood icon Sonu Nigam launches his first-ever global arena tour with a solo show marking 30 years of his music career, bringing a live band, epic visuals and a mix of timeless hits and new material to Yas Island.
  • This is Michael, Etihad Arena, 22 August,: This spectacular live tribute to Michael Jackson touches down on Yas Island for one night only. Led by performer Lenny Jay, whose vocals and choreography have earned praise from the Jackson family, the production brings an international cast of dancers, singers and musicians together for a setlist of more than 20 of his greatest hits.
  • Marsana Sundowners, every weekend until 27 September: Watch the sun go down over the water with laid-back weekend evenings, easy bites and waterside views.
  • Half-price at Fifth Street Café, until 30 September: Drop by the Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Center spot for discounted pastries and beverages, a relaxed pick for coffee catchups or an afternoon treat.
