- The Seven runs across seven villages in seven emirates were created to celebrate sports, heritage and nature in aseries of community events that reflect unity and national cohesion across the UAE
Abu Dhabi, 11th December 2025: The Emirates Council for Balanced Development has concluded the seventh and final race of the 2025 Emirates Villages Run Series, held as part of the “Year of Community” initiatives under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs’ Families Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development.
The final race took place in Al Shuwaib, Abu Dhabi, and witnessed wide participation from all segments of society –families, children, youth, senior citizens and People of Determination – reflecting the unified national effort to promote comprehensive and balanced development with people at its core.
The last run event coincided with the UAE’s 54th Union Day celebrations. Al Shuwaib hosted a variety of relatedactivities, including artistic performances and heritage showcases that embodied the spirit of unity and belonging, adding a festive atmosphere to the event and reinforcing national identity.
The race day featured Emirati cultural performances by local artistic and folk groups, offering participants and visitors an opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Al Shuwaib and its authentic traditions. The performances also contributed to promoting tourism in the area by highlighting its natural and cultural assets.
During the event, winners across all categories were awarded, and outstanding participants were honoured in a celebratory atmosphere that symbolised the unity of the UAE community.
The awarding ceremony was attended by:
- H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs
- H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
- H.E. Mohammed Khalifa Bakhit Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development
- Dr. Ghawiya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President of Medical Services & Quality of Life at ADNOC
Additional attendees included officials from various councils and authorities across the UAE.
In support of the event, the National Agricultural Centre organised a Farmers’ Market that showcased a selection of local agricultural products from Al Shuwaib, as well as demonstrations of modern agricultural and environmental practices. Visitors were also introduced to organic and seasonal products that play a key role in supporting food security and encouraging local agriculture. The centre also distributed free seedlings to participants.
The seventh and final race stood out for its agricultural and environmental character, reflecting Al Shuwaib’s rich natural landscape and unique rural identity. Located strategically between Al Ain and Dubai, the area is known for its expansive farms and traditional rural homes, giving participants and visitors an immersive experience that highlights the beauty of UAE villages and the richness of their social, natural and environmental heritage.
The conclusion of this year’s series capped seven races in seven villages across the seven emirates, combining sports, culture, heritage and natural beauty. The races journeyed from Qidfa in Fujairah, to Masfout in Ajman, Al Rams in Ras Al Khaimah, Falaj Al Mualla in Umm Al Quwain, Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah, Al Lisaili in Dubai and, finally, Al Shuwaib in Abu Dhabi – all in safe, inclusive environments celebrating the UAE’s values of unity and togetherness.
Across its seven stages, the Emirates Villages Run Series welcomed over 5,000 participants from diverse community groups, with a prize pool of AED 500,000 awarded to top finishers.
The organisation of the series reflects the vision and guidance of the UAE leadership to promote balanced development across all regions of the country through community and sports initiatives that enhance quality of life, encourage healthy lifestyles and strengthen the values of community service, volunteerism and shared responsibility.
The 2025 Emirates Villages Run Series also offered a unique opportunity to highlight the cultural, tourism and social richness of UAE villages, aligning with the Emirates Council for Balanced Development’s mission to showcase regional development assets and elevate the quality of life in local communities.
Race distances catered to a range of entrants, including a 1.5-km Family Run, a 5-km Community Run, and a 10-km Competitive Run, allowing broad participation across all ages and abilities.
The 2025 Emirates Villages Run Series was organised in partnership with ADNOC and in collaboration with sports councils, municipalities and tourism authorities nationwide. The series served as a community and sporting platform that highlighted the UAE’s diverse natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage while reinforcing the values of unity and belonging.

أبوظبي 11 ديسمبر 2025: نظم مجلس الإمارات للتنمية المتوازنة الجولة السابعة والختامية من سلسلة سباقات "قُرى الإمارات للجري" 2025 التي تُقام ضمن فعاليات "عام المجتمع" برعاية سمو الشيخ ذياب بن محمد بن زايد آل نهيان نائب رئيس ديوان الرئاسة للشؤون التنموية وأسر الشهداء رئيس مجلس الإمارات للتنمية المتوازنة.
وانطلقت السباقات الأخيرة في منطقة الشويب بأبوظبي بمشاركة واسعة من مختلف فئات المجتمع بما في ذلك الأسر والأطفال والشباب وكبار المواطنين وأصحاب الهمم في تجسيد لتكامل الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تحقيق التنمية الشاملة والمتوازنة التي يمثل الإنسان محورها الرئيسي.
وجاءت الجولة السابعة والختامية من سلسلة السباقات بالتزامن مع احتفالات دولة الإمارات بعيد الاتحاد الـ54 حيث شهدت منطقة الشويب مجموعة من الفعاليات الوطنية التي شملت عروضاً فنية وأنشطة تراثية عكست روح الاتحاد والانتماء ما أضفى أجواء احتفالية على السباق وعزّز حضور الهوية الوطنية في الحدث.
وتخللت فعاليات السباقات عروض إماراتية قدمتها فرق فنية وشعبية أسهمت في تعريف المشاركين والزوار بالموروث المحلي لمنطقة الشويب وإبراز ملامحه الثقافية الأصيلة إلى جانب دورها في الترويج السياحي للمنطقة وتسليط الضوء على مقوماتها الطبيعية والتراثية.
وتم تتويج الفائزين في الجولة السابعة بالمراكز الأولى وتكريم المشاركين المتميزين في مختلف الفئات وسط أجواء احتفالية تعكس روح الوحدة الوطنية التي تميز مجتمع دولة الإمارات.
وحضر التتويج معالي الدكتور سلطان بن سيف النيادي وزير دولة لشؤون الشباب وسعادة محمد سعيد النعيمي وكيل وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة وسعادة محمد خليفة بخيت الكعبي الأمين العام لمجلس الإمارات للتنمية المتوازنة والدكتورة غوية النيادي نائب رئيس أول الخدمات الطبية وجودة الحياة في "أدنوك" إلى جانب عدد من مسؤولي الهيئات والمجالس في الدولة.
وشارك المركز الزراعي الوطني في الفعاليات المصاحبة للسباق من خلال "سوق المزارعين" الذي شهد عرض مجموعة من المنتجات الزراعية المحلية من منطقة الشويب إلى جانب استعراض الممارسات الزراعية والبيئية الحديثة.
وأتاح المركز للزوار والمشاركين فرصة التعرف على المنتجات العضوية والموسمية التي تُعد ركيزة أساسية في دعم الأمن الغذائي وتشجيع الزراعة المحلية إضافة إلى توزيع الشتلات الزراعية مجاناً على المشاركين.
وتميزت الجولة السابعة من سباقات "قُرى الإمارات للجري2025" بطابعها الزراعي والبيئي المتنوع نظراً لما تتمتع به منطقة الشويب من بيئة طبيعية وهوية جغرافية ريفية متفردة حيث تتميز بموقعها الاستراتيجي بين مدينة العين وإمارة دبي وطابعها الزراعي والريفي الذي يعكس البيئة الإماراتية الأصيلة إذ تضم مزارع واسعة ومساكن ريفية ما منح المشاركين والزوار تجربة مميزة تعكس جمال القرى الإماراتية وثراء موروثها البيئي والاجتماعي والطبيعي.
ومع انتهاء سباق الجولة السابعة، أكملت السلسلة 7 سباقات في 7 قرى من 7 إمارات جمعت بين الرياضة والثقافة والتراث والطبيعة الخلابة في قرى الإمارات حيث انطلقت من قدفع في الفجيرة مروراً بمصفوت في عجمان والرمس في رأس الخيمة وفلج المعلا في أم القيوين ودبا الحصن بالشارقة والليسيلي بدبي لتختتم فعالياتها في منطقة الشويب بأبوظبي في بيئة آمنة وملائمة للجميع تعكس أسمى قيم التلاحم الوطني في مجتمع الإمارات.
وحظيت سلسلة السباقات خلال جولاتها السبع بمشاركة أكثر من 5000 مشارك من مختلف فئات المجتمع وبإجمالي جوائز بلغت قيمتها 500 ألف درهم للفائزين بالمراكز الأولى.
وجاء تنظيم سباقات "قُرى الإمارات للجري" ترجمةً لرؤية وتوجيهات القيادة الرشيدة بتعزيز التنمية المتوازنة في مختلف مناطق الدولة من خلال مبادرات مجتمعية ورياضية تُسهم في رفع جودة الحياة وتشجع على تبني نمط حياة صحي بما يرسخ قيم الخدمة المجتمعية والتطوع وثقافة المسؤولية المشتركة.
وشكلت سباقات "قُرى الإمارات للجري 2025" فرصة مهمة لاستكشاف الجوانب الثقافية والسياحية والاجتماعية التي تزخر بها القرى الإماراتية في إطار رؤية مجلس الإمارات للتنمية المتوازنة الهادفة إلى إبراز مقومات التنمية في مختلف مناطق الدولة وتعزيز جودة الحياة في المجتمعات المحلية.
وتنوّعت مسافات السباقات بما يناسب جميع الفئات حيث شملت سباق العائلة لمسافة 1.5 كيلومتر والسباق المجتمعي لمسافة 5 كيلومترات والسباق التنافسي لمسافة 10 كيلومترات ما أتاح المجال لمشاركة واسعة من مختلف شرائح المجتمع.
جدير بالذكر أن سباقات "قُرى الإمارات للجري 2025 " تُنظم بالشراكة مع شركة "أدنوك" وبالتعاون مع المجالس الرياضية والبلديات والهيئات السياحية على مستوى الدولة وقد مثّلت منصة مجتمعية ورياضية تُبرز قيم الانتماء وتسهم في تسليط الضوء على تنوع تضاريس الدولة الطبيعية وثراء ثقافتها وتراثها.
