A new integrated marketing campaign from Shell Helix is to give drivers
everywhere a glimpse of the future of motor oils.
Shell
PurePlus Technology is a revolutionary gas-to-liquid (GTL) process that
converts natural gas into the crystal-clear base oil with virtually none of the
impurities found in crude oil. The result is our most advanced synthetic motor
oil to date.
It
is a first for the industry and marks the culmination of more than four decades
of research and development in Shell laboratories all over the world.
Shell
Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology represents a major shift for the Shell Helix
Ultra brand, placing a new strategic focus on gas-to-liquids technology for its
top-tier motor oils, as opposed to traditional crude oil refining. To lay out
this new vision to motorists, the brand is investing in a global marketing
campaign in over 100 countries including Egypt.
The
campaign included print and outdoor advertising, supported by new digital
platforms and below-the-line activation such as PR and in-store theatre. In 13
markets, the support will include all elements in an integrated campaign; a
first for the brand.

Shell
PurePlus Technology is a revolutionary process to design pure, synthetic base oil
which delivers higher levels of cleansing and protection[2]. It’s
produced at the Pearl. It begins with the extraction of natural gas, and then enters
one of 24 reactors at the plant, where chains of hydrocarbons are rearranged
and transformed into liquid base oil virtually free of all the impurities found
in crude oil.
Base
oil makes up approximately 75-90% of a motor oil, so this is a significant
step-change in the composition of Shell Helix Ultra motor oils. Unlike the base
oils that originate from crude oil, gas-to-liquid provides a superior molecular
structure from which to create Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology, a
new industry-leading motor oil offering better protection against sludge[3], superior corrosion defence[4] and, ultimately helping to ensure longer
engine life. Fuel economy benefits vary with viscosity grade, but certain
products within the Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology range can
deliver an improvement of up to 3% in fuel economy[5].

إن تكنولوجيا "PurePlus" المقدمة من شل هي تكنولوجيا
