Contributes to Improved Governance and Legislation in Transport Industry
Easy
Taxi, the global e-hailing taxi service, contributed to the transport
industry in Bahrain by supporting drivers and commuters alike. Studies
show that travellers in Bahrain have faced difficulties with taxi
services such as overcharging and lack of availability. Drivers working
in the kingdom have attributed a lack of customers and an abundance of
illegal taxis, as the main factors hindering better service.
Tackling
the main issues that faced the transport industry, Easy Taxi introduced
various strategies to facilitate transportation in Bahrain. Abdul
Hussain Ghuloom, Bahraini national and father of three, is an Easy Taxi
driver since July 2014. Ghuloom’s colleagues first introduced him to the
app based service, after which he decided to join the fleet.
Ghuloom’s
sentiment is that Easy Taxi contributed to the transport industry by
offering improved governance and legislation in Bahrain. Ghuloom
explains: “Easy Taxi is helping our local taxi drivers community by
providing us with a customer base, which we otherwise would have no
access to. Easy Taxi has simplified the booking process and has
discouraged people from seeking the services of private and illegal
taxis.”
Ghuloom
explains that one of the main obstacles taxis were facing was the
overwhelming use of private taxi cabs. “The private taxis that operate
in Bahrain without any taxi license are hurting our business. Drivers
rent a car and pretend to be taxi drivers without a legal meter or any
insurance for the passengers”, he explains.
Another
direct benefit for Easy Taxi drivers is the expansion of the available
customer base. “Previously, work was much more challenging as we’d face
days without the ability to secure customers. Having joined Easy Taxi,
we gained customers and joined a strong community of drivers, which also
operates with some healthy competition.”

مؤخراً مشكلات متعددة تتعلق بالنقل عبر سيارات الأجرة، مثل ارتفاع أجرة
النقل وعدم توفر المركبات الكافية. ويلقي السائقون من ناحيتهم اللائمة إلى
مشاكل أخرى من قبيل قلة الزبائن وكثرة سيارات الأجرة غير المرخصة، ما
يعيقهم عن تقديم خدمة أفضل.
وفي
مبادرة لمؤسسة إيزي تاكسي في تخفيف العوائق التي تواجه قطاع النقل، فقد
تقدمت بعدة خطط استراتيجية، من شأنها تيسير عملية النقل في مملكة البحرين.
عبد الحسين غلوم، مواطن بحريني وأب لثلاثة أطفال، هو سائق لدى إيزي تاكسي
منذ يوليو ٢٠١٤. البداية كانت عندما أطلعه زملاؤه للمرة الأولى على تطبيق
للهاتف الخاص بخدمات سيارات الأجرة، منذ ذلك الوقت قرر الانضمام إلى
الأسطول.
يعتقد
السائق غلوم أن إيزي تاكسي قد ساهمت مساهمة إيجابية في قطاع النقل من خلال
تقديم حلول مطورة في هذا القطاع ووضع التشريعات المناسبة له. ويستطرد
السائق غلوم: "كسائقي أجرة محليين، توفّر لنا إيزي تاكسي نفس الخدمات التي
تقدمها الشركة للزبائن، وهي ميزة لم نكن لنحصل عليها من قبل. لقد سهّلت
إيزي تاكسي عملية حجز مركبة الأجرة ودفعت الناس إلى العدول في تنقلاتهم عن
استخدام سيارات الأجرة الخاصة وغير المرخصة."
ويوضح
السيد غلوم أن العائق الأساسي الذي كان يواجهونه السائقون سابقاً هو كثرة
سيارات النقل الخاص بالأجرة. فيقول: "إن تلك السيارات الخاصة التي تعمل في
المملكة بدون ترخيص، تضرّ بعملنا. فيعمد أولئك السائقون غير القانيون إلى
استئجار سيارة والتظاهر بمظهر سائق سيارة أجرة، لكن بدون عداد أجرة قانوني
أو تأمين للركاب".
أما
الفائدة المباشرة الأخرى لسائقي إيزي تاكسي فتكمن في توسيع قاعدة الزبائن
المتوفرة لديهم. "كان علينا في السابق العمل أكثر بكثير لنواجه التحديات
اليومية، دون أدنى فكرة إن كان الواحد منا قد أمّن العدد الكافي من الزبائن
أم لا. أما بعد الانضمام إلى إيزي تاكسي، فقد كسب كل واحد منا زبائن جدد
وانضم إلى مجموعة متماسكة من السائقين، تسري بينهم روح المنافسة
الإيجابية".
