– With over two decades in the travel and tourism business, Samir
Tabbah, CEO of Desert Gate, spearheads the company’s transformation into
a fully-fledged Destination Management Company delivering premium
experiences “Par Excellence” to guests visiting UAE and Oman.
“For almost two decades, I was blessed to be involved in developing
and expanding the inbound sector in UAE and Oman. Along with my
Management Team – who have a combined experience of over 75 years in the
business – I believe that we have a unique business and service model
that will benefit everyone”, commented Tabbah.
Originally from Jordan, Tabbah’s values stem from a strong hospitality
background, his traditional family were traders as well as hotel owners
which allowed him to be immersed in the hospitality industry from a
young age. In the early 90’s he began to develop a career with the
opportunity to work as a Sales Representative in a hotel based in Dubai.
As Tabbah’s career developed he joined a DMC company to further his
knowledge of the market. His passion for tourism and strong vision for
the avenir of the UAE led him to found Desert Adventures Middle
East in 1997, a successful DMC with local expertise within a global
network that currently operates in the UAE, Oman and Jordan. In 2008
Desert Adventures was acquired by the internationally renowned travel
agency Kuoni for which Tabbah spearheaded its operations in the Middle
East as CEO bringing expertise and knowledge for more than 6 years.
Tabbah now resides in Dubai with his own family continuing tradition and
drawing on his extensive experience to start his own legacy founded on
an understanding that human touch is essential to the tourism industry.
This core value is prevalent throughout the whole business starting from
the CEO, all the way to the experts, chauffeurs and welcome concierges
at the airports. The guests come first and all of the team takes on the
role of ambassadors of the destinations. “Our commitment goes way
