AWS, e&, and UAE Cybersecurity Council launch the ‘UAE Sovereign Launchpad,’ accelerating cloud adoption for public sector and regulated industries

 

Partnership offers sovereign-by-design cloud and AI solutions endorsed by the UAE Cybersecurity Council

Dubai — May 16, 2025 — Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), and e&, the UAE-based global technology group, have today launched the UAE Sovereign Launchpad, a cloud offering in UAE that is set to accelerate the adoption of cloud and AI services for the UAE public sector and regulated industries. The UAE Sovereign Launchpad, which is powered by AWS, offered by e&, and endorsed by the UAE Cybersecurity Council, paves the way for a new era of public cloud adoption in the UAE that is estimated to add US$181 billion cumulative value to the nation’s digital economy by 2033. The UAE Sovereign Launchpad will run on the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region located within the borders of the UAE. e& will manage and implement customers’ security and sovereignty controls aligned with UAE Cloud Security policies. In addition, e& will leverage AWS Outposts, a service that allows customers to extend and run AWS services on premises, to meet customers’ specific data residency requirements. UAE government agencies, along with customers in healthcare, financial services, education, space, oil & gas, and non-profit sectors, can now access the latest AWS cloud technologies, while addressing the data sovereignty requirements of the UAE Cyber Security Council. UAE public sector and regulated customers can use the UAE Sovereign Launchpad through e& for all workloads except those classified as Secret and Top Secret, combining AWS cloud capabilities, alongside workload management solutions and managed security support provided by e&. الاتحاد للطيران تواصل توسيع أسطولها في اتفاقية مع بوينغ

 

 

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة - تواصل الاتحاد للطيران، الناقل الوطني لدولة الإمارات، توسيع أسطولها مع تأكيد طلبية شراء 28 طائرة بوينغ عريضة البدن. فمنذ عام 2023، تعمل الشركة على تنمية أسطولها بشكل مطرد في إطار استراتيجية طويلة الأجل لمضاعفة حجم الأسطول بحلول عام 2030. ويعكس هذا الطلب الأخير نهج الاتحاد للطيران المستمر في مواءمة أسطولها مع احتياجات الشبكة والاحتياجات التشغيلية المتزايدة.

 

تتضمن الاتفاقية طائرات بوينغ 787 وبوينغ 777X، التي تعمل بمحركات جنرال إلكتريك وتدعمها حزمة من خدمات الصيانة. ومن المتوقع أن تنضم هذه الطائرات إلى الأسطول اعتبارًا من عام 2028، لتدعم خطط الاتحاد الحالية للنمو في مجال النقل والكفاءة التشغيلية وتجربة الضيوف.

PARIS, France, May 15, 2025/ -- Libya’s latest upstream licensing round has already attracted more than 40 applicants, a signal of the country’s re-entry into the global energy arena and growing interest in its largely untapped hydrocarbon potential. This update was shared by Abdolkabir Alfakhry, Advisor to Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas, during a session sponsored by ConocoPhillips at the Invest in African Energy Forum in Paris on Wednesday. “More than 40 companies have already applied to the bid round,” said Alfakhry, noting that results are expected around November. “This will open a new environment for international companies to work in Libya.” Framing Libya’s assets as underexplored, particularly offshore, Alfakhry pointed to the country’s strategic location on the Mediterranean and its proximity to European markets as key competitive advantages. “The bid round signals Libya’s integration into the global energy market,” he said. That outlook was echoed by Steiner Våge, President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at ConocoPhillips, who confirmed the U.S. major’s intention to deepen its engagement in Libya and across the African continent. “Libya is a place where we can work – over the last few years, we’ve significantly increased production at the Waha concession,” said Vaage. “We want to see Libya prosper. We’d also like to transfer our knowledge, and we want to work with partners that have similar objectives – that is the starting point.” While capital remains globally competitive, Vaage emphasized that Africa – alongside Libya and Equatorial Guinea in particular – remains in strong contention for future investment. “We see a future in Equatorial Guinea in terms of stranded assets and getting more gas,” he said. “The country needs more gas to keep its facilities and sustain production.
