  • SFD provides a USD 16 million concessional loan to support the upgrade of 9.87 km section of the Pristina–Mitrovica Highway.
  • The project will strengthen regional connectivity, benefiting approximately 600,000 inhabitants and support safer, more efficient journeys, access to employment and essential services, and economic activity.
  • The project represents an important milestone in SFD’s partnership with the Government of Kosovo and its commitment to sustainable development.

Pristina, Kosovo, 29 September 2026 – The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) today joined the Government of Kosovo to inaugurate the Pristina–Mitrovica Highway, marking SFD’s first completed project in Kosovo and an important milestone in the partnership between both sides.

His Excellency Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development, inaugurated the upgraded section of the highway by cutting the ribbon at the newly completed road. He subsequently held a sideline meetings with His Excellency Hekuran Murati, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Dimal Basha Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and His Excellency Arben Vitia, Minister of Health, to discuss the development projects and the continued partnership between SFD and the Government of Kosovo.

The project supports the upgrade of a 9.87 km section of the Prishtina–Mitrovica Highway, strengthening the connection between Prishtina, Kosovo's capital, and Mitrovica, and improving links with northern Kosovo and surrounding municipalities. The project is expected to benefit approximately 600,000 inhabitants, particularly residents of Prishtina, Mitrovica and Vushtrri.

By improving regional connectivity, the project will help reduce travel times and enhance road safety, providing a faster, safer and more efficient route for passengers and commercial traffic.

Beyond the infrastructure itself, the project will support people and communities along the corridor. Improved connectivity will facilitate the movement of people and goods, strengthen access to employment and essential services, and contribute to economic activity along this important transport corridor.

SFD supported the project through a USD 16 million concessional loan, co-financed with the OPEC Fund for International Development. The project reflects the role of international cooperation and strong partnerships in supporting sustainable development and delivering long-term impact.

His Excellency Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development, said: “The Prishtina–Mitrovica Highway represents an important milestone in SFD's partnership with Kosovo. IEA response to the PM's speech to Labour Party Conference

#

29 September 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IEA response to the PM's speech to Labour Party Conference

Responding, Dr Valentin Boboc, Senior Economist, Institute of Economic Affairs, said:

"Andy Burnham promised to give people more control over the economy, but too often his answer was simply to give more control to the state — shifting costs from bills onto taxpayers rather than making them disappear.

The National Care Service exposes the biggest problem. Reforming the triple lock after 2030 may be sensible, but the government is proposing a new open-ended spending commitment while promising to maintain an existing one for years to come. It remains unclear where the money will come from in the meantime, or how rising costs will be controlled.

Help to Buy risks repeating an old mistake: subsidising demand where housing supply remains constrained, potentially pushing prices higher. The lasting answer is to make it easier to build.

Reducing barriers to trade with Europe could support growth. But Burnham has now opened a much bigger debate about Britain’s long-term relationship with the EU without saying which model he favours. The economic test for any new settlement should be whether it makes Britain more open to trade while preserving its ability to pursue pro-growth regulation at home.

With the Budget just weeks away, the government should focus on controlling spending, cutting taxes and removing barriers to investment and growth - not expanding the state and leaving taxpayers to pick up the bill."

UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP APPOINTS LIBBY BUSH AS PRESIDENT, GLOBAL BRANDS AND COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS

Entrepreneur and CAA Global Head of Entertainment Partnerships to drive growth for artists and brands and create new experiences for fans across digital platforms, physical products, and live experiences

Newly created role further expands UMG’s capabilities to accelerate innovation and create new possibilities for artists and songwriters

SANTA MONICA, September 29, 2026 — Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, today announced the appointment of Libby Bush to the newly created role of President, Global Brands and Commercial Partnerships, starting in November. Bush will lead a new global function that brings together UMG’s brands, media, and commercial partnership businesses, including Universal Music Group for Brands (UMGB). Based in Los Angeles, Bush will report to UMG’s Chief Operating Officer Boyd Muir.

Great artists create worlds around their music, attracting fans and inspiring loyalty. Today, those worlds reach well beyond recorded music, into original content, live experiences, products and new ventures, and the world’s leading brands and platforms want to be a part of them. Bush will draw together the expertise and relationships across UMG’s labels and businesses to make ambitious collaborations easier to develop and deliver worldwide. Spanning digital platforms, physical products and live experiences, these collaborations will be rooted in artists’ originality and authentic connections with fans.

Bush joins UMG from Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where she served as Global Head of Entertainment Partnerships and was a member of the Agency Board. She founded and built CAA’s Entertainment Partnerships division, establishing it as a leading business connecting entertainment, brands and media. She brings more than two decades of experience driving growth and cultivating relationships at the highest levels of the industry.

Bush said, “Music has never been more central to culture, and what artists can build around it has never been bigger. Today’s artists are storytellers, founders, and brands in their own right. UMG has the greatest artists and songwriters in the world, extraordinary label teams, and incredible global reach. I am excited to bring those strengths together to give artists even more ways to reach fans and build lasting businesses, and to give brands a meaningful role in something people love. I look forward to working with Boyd, our leadership and teams around the world on collaborations that artists are proud of and fans want to be part of.”

Muir said, “As the ways fans experience music evolve, the opportunities for our artists multiply. Bringing our brand, media, and commercial partnerships together under Libby’s leadership will help extend our artists’ reach and grow their revenues, while giving our partners new ways to build relationships with fans and collaborate with the world’s most influential voices. Libby brings exceptional creative and commercial expertise to the world’s leading music company. She’ll work with our talent, teams, and partners to create memorable experiences for fans, lasting value for brands, and new possibilities for artists.”

Before CAA, Bush founded Tandem Entertainment, an entertainment partnerships agency acquired by CAA in 2020. Previously, she led impactful global brand partnerships at Marvel Entertainment, delivering partnerships and co-marketing across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and held roles at ABC Entertainment, the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks and the National Basketball Association.

Across her 20+ year career, Bush has developed and negotiated innovative partnerships involving leading brands, talent, producers, studios and platforms. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Turtle Beach Corporation and was named one of Ad Age’s Leading Women in 2025.

Bush’s appointment is the latest in a series of moves to strengthen UMG’s central operations under Boyd Muir’s leadership, including the appointments of Tseyin Foo as President, Global Supply Chain, and Hannah Poferl as Chief Data Officer. Together, these appointments strengthen the specialist support UMG provides to its labels and teams to drive innovation, develop artists, and grow revenues worldwide.

UAE Minister of Justice Launches “Guiding Principles for the Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems by Law Firms” at UN Crime Congress

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 29 September 2026 – His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice of the UAE and President of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice – Abu Dhabi 2026, today launched the “Guiding Principles for the Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems by Law Firms” initiative on the sidelines of the Congress, currently underway at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

The launch took place in the presence of Her Excellency Maryam Bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of The UAE Cabinet, alongside a number of senior officials, legal professionals and representatives of the media.

The initiative is aligned with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Declaration and its emphasis on the responsible use of artificial intelligence. It reflects the UAE's firm belief that the integration of advanced technologies into the justice sector should be guided by clear professional and ethical responsibilities, ensuring that innovation serves as a tool to strengthen justice, enhance the quality of legal services, and safeguard the rights and interests of clients and stakeholders.

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice of the UAE and President of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice – Abu Dhabi 2026, said: “This initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence in legal practice and encouraging the adoption of international best practices. At the same time, it is aligned with relevant global principles and standards, as well as the national regulatory frameworks governing the use of artificial intelligence in the UAE.”

He added: “At the heart of these principles lies a simple but fundamental principle: people must remain at the centre of justice. No matter how advanced technology becomes, professional responsibility cannot be delegated. The outputs generated by artificial intelligence systems must always be subject to careful human review, verification and oversight. Lawyers remain responsible for ensuring the accuracy and suitability of these outputs, as well as assessing their impact on the rights and interests of clients and stakeholders.

“Through this initiative, we seek to promote an approach that combines the capabilities of artificial intelligence with the professional judgement of lawyers, enhancing the accuracy and quality of legal work while safeguarding confidentiality and protecting the rights of all parties.”

The initiative is intended to serve as both an incentive and a practical reference for law firms operating in the UAE as they expand the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies. It sets out ten core principles that provide a clear framework for the adoption and responsible use of AI systems by law firms. The principles are designed to support informed professional practices and enable law firms to benefit from the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence while maintaining public confidence and trust in legal services.

Botim and GCash partner as Philippines remittances on Botim surge 145%

Partnership connects Botim’s reach across more than 60% of the Filipino community in the UAE with the Philippines’ largest digital finance ecosystem

Dubai, UAE – 29 September 2026 – Botim, the UAE’s leading fintech platform, has partnered with GCash, the Philippines’ largest digital finance ecosystem, to strengthen digital remittance access across the UAE–Philippines corridor.

The partnership comes as digital remittance activity between the UAE and the Philippines continues to accelerate. During the first eight months of 2026, Botim recorded 145% year-on-year growth in total remittance value sent to the Philippines through the app. This growth was also reflected in higher transaction volumes and 115% growth in its transacting user base, highlighting the increasing shift towards digital remittances across the corridor.

Botim already serves more than 60% of the Filipino community in the UAE, with 548,000 verified Filipino users on the platform. Its reach extends across both sides of the corridor, with 2.2 million people having used Botim in the Philippines over the past year. Through the partnership, Botim users in the UAE can now send money directly to GCash wallets in the Philippines, making it easier for Filipinos to send money home through a platform they already use.

Recipients can then use funds across GCash’s everyday financial services, including bills, daily essentials, transfers, savings, investments and other digital financial tools. The integration brings together Botim’s regulated remittance capabilities with GCash’s network of more than 94 million registered users.

Hesham Sherif, VP of Remittance at Botim, said: “The UAE–Philippines corridor demonstrates how important remittances are to the everyday financial lives of communities across borders. For many OFWs in the UAE, sending money home is how they support their families and build financial resilience. Our focus is on making Botim more useful wherever those financial lives extend, by giving users access to the platforms and ecosystems they already rely on. GCash is deeply embedded in everyday financial life in the Philippines, making this a natural extension of the experience we are building for our users.”

Jonathan Que, GCash International General Manager, added: “Through our partnership with Botim, we are expanding how the Filipino community in the UAE can support families back home through a platform already integrated into everyday financial life. By enabling direct wallet access, we are making remittances more seamless, more relevant and better integrated with the broader financial needs of Filipino households.”

With 160 million users globally, Botim continues to expand the utility of its platform across priority remittance corridors including the Philippines, India, Pakistan and Egypt. Partnerships such as GCash extend that utility across borders, giving users access to trusted financial ecosystems in their home markets.

Alteryx and Golden Analytics partner to help organizations reimagine analytics for the AI era

Alteryx and Golden Analytics partner to help organizations reimagine analytics for the AI era

The alliance comes as AI adoption continues to accelerate across the Gulf. According to Microsoft’s Global AI Diffusion Report, the UAE led global AI diffusion in Q1 2026, with 70.1% of its working-age population using generative AI. In Saudi Arabia, 33.1% of establishments used AI technologies in 2025, up 20% from 2024, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). For organizations across the region, this increases the need to make AI-driven analytics more accessible while maintaining consistent governance, business logic and control.

By bringing together Alteryx’s governed data workflows and business logic with Golden Analytics’ AI-native analytical capabilities, the alliance helps analysts and business teams spend less time on the mechanics of working with data and more time exploring questions, uncovering insights, and making decisions.

For decades, reports and dashboards have given organizations consistent answers to questions they already knew they wanted to ask. AI creates a different possibility: people can investigate questions as they arise, pursue unexpected findings, and interact with business information more dynamically.

But that flexibility can only bring useful answers if the underlying information can be trusted. Alteryx provides the governed workflows, standardized definitions, calculations, and business logic that create a reliable foundation for analysis. Golden Analytics builds on that foundation, using AI to help analysts and business teams investigate questions, identify patterns, test assumptions, and uncover insights more quickly. Together, they give organizations both the foundation for trustworthy analytics and the ability to discover more from it.

“AI is fundamentally changing how organizations interact with data, creating an opportunity to make analytics more dynamic, accessible, and useful across the business,” said Andy MacMillan, CEO of Alteryx. “But AI alone doesn't understand how a company operates. The calculations, rules, processes, and decisions that shape a business need to be captured in a trusted and governed foundation. By bringing Alteryx together with Golden Analytics, we're helping customers connect that foundation to a new way of exploring data, uncovering insights, and moving from questions to action faster.”

“In the Middle East, organizations are moving from testing AI use cases to applying them more broadly across the business,” said Sabya Sen, Vice President, Head of IMEA & APAC at Alteryx. “The priority is to make AI-driven analytics accessible to more teams without weakening control over definitions, data access or accountability. By bringing Golden Analytics’ AI-native capabilities together with Alteryx’s governed workflows and business logic, this alliance gives organizations a practical way to explore data more dynamically while working from a trusted foundation.”

Reports and dashboards will continue to play an important role in communicating information and standardizing how organizations measure performance. But in an AI-native world, they are no longer the endpoint of analytics. Today, a static answer can instead become the starting point for deeper investigation.

At the same time, AI can help people move more quickly from a known question to the follow-up questions and insights they did not know to look for. As more of the manual work involved in preparing data, building reports, and navigating calculations becomes automated, analysts can spend time more valuably: testing hypotheses, interpreting results, investigating unexpected findings, and determining what to do next.

“The dashboard has traditionally been the end product of analytics, but in an AI-native world, it becomes the beginning of a conversation,” said Francois Ajenstat, CEO of Golden Analytics. “AI gives people the ability to pursue questions as they arise rather than waiting for someone to build the next report. The opportunity with Alteryx is to connect powerful analytical capabilities to the workflows and business logic organizations already rely on, so more people can investigate confidently without giving up accuracy, governance, or control.”

Learn more about the Alteryx and Golden Analytics alliance and watch the demo to see how governed data workflows, business logic, and AI-native analytics can work together to help organizations move from trusted data to exploration, discovery, and action.

Alteryx CEO Andy MacMillan, Golden Analytics CEO François Ajenstat, and Bill Urciuoli, CTO of McGarrah Jessee, will host a live LinkedIn discussion, “The Trust Equation: Building Data Confidence in the AI Era” on September 29 at 10 a.m. PT/9 p.m. GST.

The conversation will explore the real-world tension between the speed and flexibility of AI-driven data exploration and the need for enterprise-grade trust—and what it takes for organizations to navigate the shift to AI-native analytics.
