ملائكة الأعمال تناقش رقمنة قطاع الخدمات اللوجستية

قامت جمعية ملائكة الأعمال المصرية "ملائكة" بعقد اجتماع افتراضي، حول رقمنة الخدمات اللوجستية مع مجموعة من أصحاب الشركات والخبراء في هذا المجال، لمناقشة سبل دعم هذا القطاع بمصر ودفعه نحو مزيد من الحلول التكنولوجية، عن طريق التوصل لتطبيق حلول ذكية تواكب التطورات التي تشهدها التجارة على المستوى الدولي.

شارك في اللقاء المهندس سمير العلايلي، مؤسس و رئيس الجمعية، ورشا كمال، المدير التنفيذي للجمعية، سامر غرايبة المؤسس والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة مايلرز لخدمات الشحن والتوصيل، أحمد علي المدير التنفيذي لشركة إجيليتي، مهدى العلبي، المؤسس والرئيس التنفيذي لـ R2S، بجانب مجموعة من المهتمين بهذا المجال.

يقول المهندس سمير العلايلي، "يعد قطاع الخدمات اللوجستية من القطاعات المهمة، فهو يلعب دوراً كبيراً في جميع المجالات تقريباً، وخاصة في مجال التجارة الالكترونية، فهناك الكثير من نماذج الأعمال الآن أصبحت تعتمد على التكنولوجيا بشكل أساسي، بداية من تلقي الطلب من العميل وتنفيذه وحتى تسليمه إليه. وبالتالي أصبح الاستثمار في تكنولوجيات التحول الرقمي أمر لابد منه خاصة في ظل أزمة كورونا التي عززت من فرص الشحن  الالكتروني".

وعن دور التكنولوجيا في قطاع الشحن أشار المهندس سامر غرايبة إلي أن التكنولوجيا تعتبر الآن أهم جزء في هذا القطاع تقريباً، كما أن لها دور واضح في التعرف علي المشكلات وبالتالي إمكانية العمل علي حلها، عن طريق خاصية  متابعة حالة الشحنة التي توفرها، بداية من تجهيزها و مرروها بكل المراحل ووصولها للعميل. 

وفيما يتعلق بكفاءة منظومة الشحن الالكتروني أوضح مهدي العلبي أن هناك العديد من العوامل المؤثرة، منها التأكد من توافر السلع بالمخازن، وسرعة التوصيل، والالتزام والدقة، بجانب الاهتمام بالكفاءة التي تعمل بها المنظومة بشكل عام، كما أشار إلي أن التركيز الأكبر موجه لمحافظات مثل القاهرة والجيزة والاسكندرية، وليس هناك اهتمام كافي بالمحافظات الأخري، خاصة محافظات الوجه القبلي، رغم وجود فرص كبيرة هناك، بسبب اختلاف الثقافة، وأن الأمر يحتاج لبعض الوقت، لكن الأمور تسير على الطريق الصحيح وهناك مستقبل مشرق وواعد لأفريقيا ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط.

وعن أحدث التقنيات الجديدة في قطاع الشحن أوضح أحمد علي، أن العالم اتجه من عامين تقريباً لادخال تقنيات البلوك تشين Blockchain في صناعة الشحن واللوجستسيات، والاعتماد على الروبوتات، والبيانات الضخمة التي تتبع الشحنات، نظراً لما يوفره من مميزات تتمثل في تحسين الكفاءة وتقليل الخسائر، بجانب البساطة والشفافية في نقل البضائع عبر الحدود.

AUC FACULTY MEMBER RESHAPES UNIVERSITIES' INFRASTRUCTURE TO FACILITATE EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM

November 11, 2020, Cairo – To facilitate education for students with autism, Magda Mostafa, associate professor at the Department of Architecture at The American University in Cairo (AUC) and international autism design expert, is currently working to deliver a Dublin City University (DCU) Autism-Friendly University Design Guide, in light of her expertise and development of the Autism ASPECTSS Design Index. The index is the world's first set of evidence-based design guidelines to address built environments for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

DCU was declared the world's first autism-friendly university by AsIAm, Ireland's National Autism Charity, through its educational and social support for students and staff on the autism spectrum, and is now working to expand its physical infrastructure and architecture to incorporate autistic needs. 

Currently, an autism-friendly design guide for university campuses is in the works. While the design being developed is specific to DCU, Mostafa — who is now a lead consultant on the project — aims for it to be scalable and replicable across Dublin at large as well as different nations and states.

“I want this to be a lifelong document not just for DCU but also other campuses,” said Mostafa. “I want all institutions to continue to follow and implement the procedures in different ways. The hope is that this will be a living project, not a ‘one of’ and continue to expand.”

Mostafa aspires for DCU's project to be a campus guidelines pilot for every higher education institution, ultimately establishing a systemized way of constructing an autism-friendly campus including residences, buildings, classrooms, libraries, offices, food spaces and more.

"Typically, policymakers, facilitators and researchers make priorities for this community without consulting them. In this case, the autism community itself guides this initiative. I care about this in all my autism work," asserted Mostafa.

The project started as an idea from AsIAm, which together with DCU, researched and sensory-audited the campuses for 18 months to identify how it could become more autism-friendly. The feedback highlighted barriers the autistic community faced on the campuses, with the environment identified as a crucial factor to aid positive learning and well-being.

"Autistic students in university are often expected to live in student accommodation, which is crowded, unstructured and noisy,” said Adam Harris, founder and CEO of AsIAm.

Physical environments can pose other difficulties for autistic students, especially those with heightened sensory awareness to smells, such as cooking smells and cigarette smoke, bright colors, fluorescent lighting and noise, such as a bustling noisy space at peak times. Such factors lead to a "sensory overload," which can be uncomfortable, painful and distressing.  The project also entails identifying smart solutions and integrating technology in the campus design by adopting the Internet of Things (IoT) and other communication technology strategies to assist autistic members with navigation, working closely with the Smart DC initiative.

“Too often, designed buildings do not take account of autism accessibility requirements and services do not prioritize the very real barriers autistic people face in managing the environment," added Harris.

Autistic individuals, Mostafa explained, need access to space throughout the day to resort to when they're overwhelmed and need to take a break, and transportation is a "big stress point" for them. Accordingly, Mostafa is working with DCU to build more inclusive on-campus student residences, taking factors such as material selection, color, lighting and interior design into account.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we embark on this piece of work with Magda Mostafa,” said Fiona Earley, autism-friendly university coordinator at DCU. “We feel very privileged to be working with someone who is so aligned with [our] values of inclusion and diversity.”

Hassell Studio, an international design consultancy, has been invited by Mostafa as a UK-based sub-consultant to help support the project under her direction.” These design guidelines will, we hope, be an important step for helping greater influence for other typologies and scales too, such as the workplace, transport, cities and residential sectors,” said Julian Gitsham, principal and practice architecture leader at Hassell Studio.

Today, Mostafa is thrilled that higher education institutions are now factoring in support for individuals with disabilities and even prouder that disability services have expanded to include autism. As a result of COVID-19's physical campus access restrictions, there are some timeline changes to the project's completion, but the project is moving ahead and expected to come to light in early 2021.

Market Cap of the Big Five Companies Surged by 46% YTD to $7.1trn, Amazon Leads with an 80% Jump

 

As opposed to the automotive industry, hotel chains, airlines, and millions of SMEs fighting to cope with the COVID-19 crisis, the world's leading tech companies have been remarkably unaffected by the effects of the coronavirus outbreak.

Defying the state of the global economy, three out of the Big Five companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Facebook, posted double-digit revenue growth for the nine months of the current year. All of them also witnessed an impressive market cap growth in 2020.

According to data presented by StockApps.com, the combined market capitalization of the Big Five companies surged by 46% YTD to $7.1trn.

The COVID-19 caused one of the biggest surges in technology investment in history by forcing millions of people to work from home and shop online amid the pandemic. Moreover, it made investors flock to the tech sector, expecting tech companies to boom in an economy whose future arrived before the schedule.

In December 2019, the combined market capitalization of Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Facebook amounted to over $4.9trn, revealed the Yahoo Finance data. After the stock market crash caused by the coronavirus outbreak, this figure dropped to $4.5trn in March.

However, the market cap of the Big Five companies recovered during the second quarter and hit over $6trn in June, a 24% jump in six months. Statistics show this figure increased by more than $1trn since then, reaching over $7.1trn at the end of last week.

The Yahoo Finance data showed Apple's market cap jumped by 56% since the beginning of 2020. In December 2019, the combined value of stocks of the US tech giant stood at nearly $1.3trn. Since then, this figure increased by $730bn, reaching $2trn last week, and pushing the company far ahead of last year's leader Microsoft.

Microsoft market cap jumped by 36% YTD, growing from over $1trn in December 2019 to $1.64trn last week. The company also reported $110.2bn in revenue in the first nine months of 2020, 13% more than the same period a year ago.

However, statistics indicate the US tech and eCommerce giant Amazon witnessed the most significant market cap increase in 2020, with the total value of its shares soaring by 80% YTD. In December 2019, Amazon market capitalization stood at around $920bn. Over the last eleven months, it jumped by almost $740bn, reaching $1.66trn last week. Statista data also revealed the company's revenue in the nine months of 2020 hit $260.5bn, a 35% increase year-over-year.

Two More Companies Join the $1 Trillion Club

While Amazon's success during the pandemic seems logical, considering millions of people who switched from brick-and-mortar stores to webshops, the relative immunity against the crisis shown by Google and Facebook is more of a surprise. Especially considering the two companies rely heavily on advertising spending, which dipped noticeably during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alphabet market cap rose by 12% since the beginning of the year, growing from $921bn in December to over $1trn last week. The Statista data also showed the company's revenue in the nine months of 2020 jumped by 9% YoY to $125.6bn.

The world's most popular social network and the fifth-largest tech company globally, Facebook, has witnessed a 42% increase in market capitalization since the beginning of the year. The combined value of all Facebook stocks rose from $585bn in December 2019 to $835bn last week, while its revenue for the nine months of 2020 was up by 17% YoY to $57.9bn.

Besides Apple and Microsoft as the two largest tech companies by market capitalization, Amazon and Alphabet also joined the $1 trillion club this year, despite the COVID-19 crisis.

سيقوم نحو 20 معهداً بتقديم العروض في جناح الأكاديمية الصينية للعلوم.

سيقدم معرض "سي إتش تي إف" للمدينة الذكية عروضاً تسلط الضوء على الإعمار البيئي للمدن الذكية، وتطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي، والحوسبة السحابية والبيانات الضخمة، وإنترنت الأشياء، وتطبيقات الأجهزة الجوالة والمعدات الذكية. كما ستقام قمة تطوير المدن الذكية في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ.
