Zoom Expands Digital Infrastructure Footprint in Saudi Arabia with Launch of New Data Center

New facility builds on Zoom’s US$ 75 million investment in the Kingdom and supports national transformation

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, June, 8th 2026 - Zoom has taken a decisive step in its Saudi growth journey with the launch of a new data center, adding valuable capacity to the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. The launch was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), attended by His Excellency Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority (DGA), alongside representatives from Aramco.

Located in center3, a Saudi‑headquartered provider of carrier‑neutral data centers and subsea cable systems connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa, the establishment of the data center builds on Zoom’s broader investment in the Kingdom. Last year, Zoom pledged US$ 75 million to Saudi Arabia with a strategic focus on innovation enabled by AI and the advanced infrastructure required to scale it, particularly as the nation designates 2026 as the Year of AI. As the country marks the 10th anniversary of Vision 2030, this designation signals a renewed emphasis on applying advanced technologies in practical, high‑impact ways. The announcement builds on years of steady progress in data and AI initiatives, supported by major national institutions and large‑scale infrastructure programs, and underscores Zoom’s long‑term commitment to supporting progress across government and industry.

Zoom’s existing regional data center, established in 2023, already supports customers requiring local data residency, and the new facility enhances capabilities for government entities, enterprises, and critical national infrastructure organizations.

Commenting on the launch, Mohannad AlKalash, Vice President of Zoom for the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP), said: “Saudi Arabia is one of the most forward‑looking digital markets in the region, and we’re seeing remarkable momentum here. Abu Dhabi, UAE: 8 June 2026 – The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) has kicked off implementation of one of its Sixth Cycle research projects through its Australia Roadshow, bringing together researchers, university leadership and scientific experts to support project delivery and strengthen international collaboration in rain enhancement science.

The roadshow commenced in Melbourne, Australia, with the technical kick-off of the project, “AI-Driven Development and Optimization of Ice-Nucleating Agents for Cloud Seeding Applications,” led by Professor Linda Zou of Victoria University. The engagement brought together UAEREP representatives and the project team to align on research objectives, implementation priorities, experimental design and key milestones that will guide the development of next-generation cloud seeding materials.

UAEREP also held an institutional kick-off with Victoria University leadership, including Professor Andy Hill, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Impact, Professor Marcelle Cacciattolo, Acting Executive Director and the Sixth Cycle project’s Co-Principal Investigator Professor Hua Wang, reinforcing institutional support for the project and exploring opportunities for long-term collaboration, scientific exchange and capacity building.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, President of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Director General of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), said: “International scientific collaboration remains essential to advancing rain enhancement science and developing innovative solutions that address global water security challenges. For her part, Alya Al Mazrouei, Director of the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science and Director of the Research and Weather Enhancement Department at the National Center of Meteorology, highlighted: “The Australia Roadshow provided an important opportunity to initiate implementation activities for one of UAEREP’s Sixth Cycle projects while strengthening relationships with leading researchers and institutions across Australia. Throughout the roadshow, the UAEREP delegation engaged with leading researchers and institutions across Melbourne and Sydney, including Victoria University, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Monash University, the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and Australian Rain Technologies (ART).

In Melbourne, the delegation met with Dr. Melita Keywood and fellow researchers at CSIRO, Prof. Steven Siems at Monash University and Prof. David Noone at the University of Melbourne to exchange knowledge, discuss current research activities and explore opportunities for future collaboration in areas relevant to atmospheric science and rain enhancement research.

The roadshow concluded in Sydney with meetings at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Australian Rain Technologies (ART). At UNSW, the UAEREP delegation met with Prof. Steven Sherwood to exchange insights on atmospheric dynamics and opportunities for future collaboration. The delegation also met with ART Chairman Matt Handbury, alongside Prof. Ray Chambers and Dr. Stephen Beare of the University of Wollongong, and Prof. Alan Welsh and Prof. Zhi Yang of the Australian National University. Discussions focused on emerging approaches to rain enhancement research, statistical methodologies for evaluating research outcomes, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration across the global rain enhancement research community.

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة: 8 يونيو 2026 - أعلن برنامج الإمارات لبحوث علوم الاستمطار، التابع للمركز الوطني للأرصاد، بداية تنفيذ أحد مشاريع دورته السادسة من خلال جولته في أستراليا التي جمعت نخبة من الباحثين وقيادات الجامعات والخبراء العلميين بهدف دعم تنفيذ المشروع وتعزيز التعاون الدولي في مجال علوم الاستمطار.

وبدأت الجولة في مدينة ملبورن الأسترالية بالاجتماع الفني لإطلاق مشروع "تطوير وتحسين مواد الاستمطار الجليدي باستخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي"، بقيادة البروفيسورة ليندا زو في جامعة فيكتوريا. وجمع الاجتماع ممثلي البرنامج وفريق المشروع البحثي للتوافق حول الأهداف البحثية والأولويات التنفيذية والتصميم التجريبي والمحطات الرئيسية التي ستوجه تطوير مواد تلقيح السحب من الجيل القادم.

Markets have started the week on the defensive, marking a notable shift after months of largely one-way traffic in risk assets. Equities are under pressure, gold has extended its recent pullback and investors are rotating back toward more traditional defensive assets, with the US dollar, Treasury yields and oil prices all moving higher.

The catalyst is a combination of renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and a growing belief that the Federal Reserve will need to maintain  its restrictive stance in the face of persistent inflation. Friday's US jobs report reinforced that narrative. Labour market resilience continues to suggest that the US economy is capable of absorbing higher interest rates, reducing the urgency for the Fed to ease policy. Instead, markets are increasingly leaning towards the next move from the Fed being a rate hike. That has pushed yields higher and supported the dollar, while simultaneously weighing on assets that have benefited from expectations of lower rates, including gold and parts of the technology sector.

The focus now turns to this week's CPI report, which has the potential to either validate or challenge that view. After hotter CPI and PPI readings in recent months, investors will be watching closely for signs that inflation pressures are becoming more embedded in the economy. A stronger-than-expected print would likely reinforce the "higher-for-longer" narrative and put further upward pressure on yields. Conversely, a softer reading could help stabilise sentiment and ease concerns that the Fed may need to tighten policy further. At the same time, geopolitical developments remain an important part of the equation. Renewed strikes between Iran and Israel have helped rebuild some risk premium in energy markets, pushing oil higher and adding another layer of inflationary pressure. The combination of higher energy costs and resilient economic data creates a more challenging backdrop for policymakers and investors alike.

Perhaps the most important development is that markets are finally showing signs of two-way price action after weeks of relentless gains. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 had become increasingly stretched from both a technical and positioning perspective, with investors overwhelmingly focused on AI-driven earnings growth and the prospect of an eventual peace deal in the Middle East. Those themes remain intact, but they are no longer operating in a vacuum. Higher yields, firmer inflation expectations and renewed geopolitical uncertainty are forcing investors to reassess valuations. That does not necessarily mean the bull market is over. Earnings growth remains exceptionally strong, particularly among large-cap technology companies, and the long-term AI narrative continues to support profitability expectations. However, after such a powerful rally, markets may be entering a period where good news is no longer enough on its own. The coming weeks could therefore look less like a continuation of the near-vertical advance seen since April and more like a consolidation phase, where investors demand further evidence that earnings can continue to outpace the growing macro headwinds.

افتتحت الأسواق العالمية الأسبوع على نبرة دفاعية، مسجلة تحولاً واضحاً بعد أسابيع من المكاسب الأحادية في الأصول ذات المخاطر العالية. و شهدت الأسهم ضغوطاً متزايدة، وامتد تراجع الذهب مؤخراً، فيما عاد المستثمرون إلى التوجه نحو الأصول الدفاعية التقليدية، مع ارتفاع كل من الدولار الأمريكي وعوائد سندات الخزانة وأسعار النفط.

ويعزى هذا التحول إلى تجدد التوترات الجيوسياسية في الشرق الأوسط وتزايد التوقعات بأن الاحتياطي الفيدرالي سيُبقي على سياسته النقدية المتشددة في ظل استمرار التضخم. وقد عزز تقرير الوظائف الأمريكي يوم الجمعة هذا الاتجاه.

إذا جاءت القراءة أقوى من المتوقع، فمن المرجح أن تعزز فرضية "الفائدة المرتفعة لفترة أطول" وتزيد الضغوط الصعودية على العوائد. أما إذا كانت القراءة أضعف، فقد تساعد على استقرار المعنويات وتخفف المخاوف من مزيد من التشديد النقدي.

تبقى التطورات الجيوسياسية عنصراً أساسياً في المشهد، حيث أدت الضربات المتجددة بين إيران وإسرائيل إلى زيادة العلاوة المخاطرة في أسواق الطاقة، مما دفع أسعار النفط للصعود وأضاف مزيداً من الضغوط التضخمية.

يشكل هذا التزاوج بين ارتفاع تكاليف الطاقة والبيانات الاقتصادية المتينة خلفية أكثر تعقيداً أمام صناع السياسات والمستثمرين على حد سواء.

تغير  في ديناميكيات السوق

ربما يكون التطور الأهم هو ظهور مؤشرات على حركة سعرية ثنائية الاتجاه بعد أسابيع من المكاسب المتتالية. فقد أصبح مؤشرا ناسداك وS&P 500 في مراكز متوترة من الناحية الفنية والتموضع الاستثماري، حيث كان التركيز منصباً بشكل كبير على نمو الأرباح المدفوع بالذكاء الاصطناعي وآمال اتفاق سلام محتمل في الشرق الأوسط.

لا تزال هذه المواضيع قائمة، لكنها لم تعد تتحرك بمعزل عن عوامل أخرى. فارتفاع العوائد، وتزايد توقعات التضخم، وتجدد حالة عدم اليقين الجيوسياسي تدفع المستثمرين لإعادة تقييم التقييمات السوقية.

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 8 June, 2026 — Capital.com, the global online trading platform, has enabled an MCP Server plugin that gives clients access to the platform from within their chosen AI assistant environment. This is a free, open-source tool that links a trader’s Capital.com account directly to an AI assistant on their computer. Compatible with tools such as Codex, Claude Desktop, or Cursor, the integration brings live market data, open positions, portfolio exposure, historical prices, and aggregated client sentiment into the research environment a client is already working in, removing the need to switch platforms between analysis and execution.

Clients can place trades directly from within their AI assistant, with all orders passing through a mandatory two-step preview and confirmation sequence before execution. Having that context in one place supports more considered decision-making, particularly where time constraints would otherwise limit the scope of review before acting.

The MCP Server operates as a locally run tool on the client’s own device. Capital.com does not control the AI environments with which this tool is compatible, and clients should review the data and privacy terms of any AI assistant they choose to use. The MCP Server does not make or suggest trading decisions. All trading decisions remain with the client. The tool does not alter or reduce the risks associated with CFD trading.
